The Bobcat Bulletin
Welcome Back to School 2025-2026!
November 22, 2025
💜 A Message from Michelle Britton 💚
Thank you to all the families who donated candy for our local shelters. Because of your generosity, we collected 330.6 pounds of candy, which will make a real difference. We also appreciated seeing so many of you at our Parent Visitation Open House. We hope the visit gave you a meaningful look into your child’s day and the work they’re doing. Next week, our teachers look forward to meeting with families to talk about your child’s progress and how we can continue to support them throughout the year. Our first- and second-grade students enjoyed an amazing Thanksgiving Day Feast, a long-standing and beloved tradition here at Indian Lane. It was a wonderful way for them to come together and celebrate the season. We wrapped up the week with a Birthday Bash during the lunches, which brought lots of smiles!
Safety Drill- November 24th
As you may be aware, we regularly conduct safety drills to practice our response plans for various situations. Most frequently, we practice our evacuation drill each month to ensure that we are well-prepared to clear the building safely in the event of a fire or another unsafe situation. This coming week, we will be conducting a safety drill, which will focus on practicing the procedures for a lockdown. During this drill, we will simulate the steps we would take to secure the building in response to a potential safety threat.
To ensure that we are in compliance with legal requirements and that our procedures are effective, we will have local police on hand for this drill. They will be observing our process and providing feedback as part of our commitment to continuous improvement in our safety measures.
We understand that drills like these can be a source of stress or concern for some students. That is why I wanted to give you advance notice that our safety drill will take place this week. This way, you can have a conversation with your child about the drill, reassure them that it is a practice to help keep everyone safe, and address any questions or concerns they may have. We will reiterate the same message to our students in advance of the drill.
Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of our students are of utmost importance to us. These drills are an essential part of our preparedness efforts and ensure that we are ready to respond effectively in the unlikely event of an emergency.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the safety drill, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I believe in open communication with our school community and are here to provide support and address any concerns you may have.
Thank you for your partnership in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment at Indian Lane Elementary.

Family Progress Report Survey
Dear Families,
Our district is in the process of revamping our K–5 standards-based progress reports to ensure they clearly communicate student learning and reflect best practices in reporting student progress.
Your perspective is important to us. We invite you to take a short, 3 question survey to share your thoughts and experiences with our current progress reports. This survey will close on November 30th. Your feedback will help guide updates that make these reports more meaningful and user-friendly for families and students.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking here.

Additional District Resources and Ways to Give Back
There are several wonderful ways through Rose Tree Media to support Indian Lane families this season:
-
Delaware County Food Bank Donations – A wonderful resource that provides a list of local donation sites for non-perishable food items.
-
Circle of Giving – Originally created at the start of the pandemic, this organization continues to support RTMSD families with essentials such as food, paper products, and hygiene items. Donations go directly to Ms. Martinez (School Social Worker) and Ms. Dacanay (Home and School Visitor), who distribute them to families in need.
If you have any questions, please contact:
Ms. Dacanay – bdacanay@rtmsd.org
Ms. Martinez – cmartinez@rtmsd.org

RTMSD Mission and Vision Survey
As part of the Rose Tree Media School District’s strategic planning process, we are updating our mission and vision statements to reflect the values and aspirations of our community. Your voice is essential in this work.
We invite staff, parents, and guardians to complete a brief Google Form to share your perspectives on what makes our district unique, what experiences every student should have each day, and what qualities we hope to see in our graduates. Your input will directly inform the development of mission and vision statements that guide our work now and in the future.
