EJMS Families,

I hope everyone stayed safe and warm these past couple of weeks after all of the snow and ice.

Reminder about drop off and supervision:

Please remember that the front doors do not open for students until 8:30 AM. We have a large number of students being dropped off outside early and we do not have any adults supervising students outside until that time when they may enter the building.

Afternoon Pick Up procedures reminders - please follow these steps to help ensure the safety of all students:

  • Please avoid parking in the Orchard so it reduces unnecessary congestion/traffic and keeps student pick up on school grounds where we have adequate supervision for student safety.

  • Remember that we do not allow any students to cross the crosswalk to go into the parking lot until all cars have moved through the car line. We encourage all parents to get in line for pickup and use the system we have in place. If you still choose to pick your child up from the parking lot please know that they will not be released until all traffic is clear from the car line pickup area.

  • No student will be able to walk to the Red Oak property without a note from the office with an approved reason (i.e. their parent works at Red Oak or they have an afternoon activity there).

  • We have made the following changes to a staggered dismissal in order to decrease the number of students in the hallways at one time, increase the number of teachers escorting students during the dismissal process, and increase the safety and supervision of our students.

    • We will begin dismissing students at 4:01 (after all of the buses are here and parked) with one grade level at a time.

    • For the month of January all 7th grade car riders, bus riders, and walkers are dismissed at 4:01. 8th grade is dismissed at 4:02, and 6th grade is dismissed at 4:03. We used cafeteria behavior to determine the dismissal time for February.

Upcoming Dates (SBDM Meetings at 4:30 PM in the EJMS library):

  • Tuesday, February 10th - Operation Preparation for 8th grade

  • Thursday, February 12th - Vaping assemblies during grade level arts classes

  • Thursday, February 12th - SBDM meeting

  • Monday, February 16th - students will be in school for President’s Day (calendar change from 1/30/26)

  • Monday, February 16th - PTO Meeting

  • Friday, February 20th - Field Trip for KSA Distinguished students

Reminder about NTI Reminder about NTI

Thursday, Jan. 29 was our last day of NTI, NTI Day 10. Students should now have completed all work for all ten days of NTI. This can be turned in online through Google Classroom or in person to the classroom teachers. Students must complete and turn in all NTI work by this Friday, Feb. 13. Remember that NTI counts as a nonacademic grade, and with so many days of NTI served this semester, this score will impact a student's overall grade for this midterm and nine weeks.
