Dear Crestwood Families
Our hearts are heavy with the news of yet another senseless tragedy. We want to recognize that these events often bring up a variety of emotions for ourselves, students, staff, families and community. All of us will process this tragedy differently. Our hearts go out to those who are directly affected.
The Crestwood staff is prepared to support students through these next few days and we recognize that you, as a family, are also addressing the feelings and questions of your children. Please take time to provide an opportunity to talk about their feelings. Let us know if your child needs anything from us. We are happy to talk with students one-to-one as needed but will refrain from whole class discussions.
As a parent myself, I want to ensure that my children go to school where they are provided a safe learning environment every day. Yesterday’s email from the superintendent Dr. Laurie Dent said, “We will not waiver in our steadfast commitment to the security of our buildings and the safety of our students and staff.” She also listed the District’s ongoing safety and security measures.
At Crestwood we want you to know that we are doing everything in our power to ensure the physical safety of our students. All outside doors, now including our front doors, are locked at all times. Guests will need to call the front office for entry upon arrival. A doorbell will be installed tomorrow and a video/intercom access control system to the front entrance will be completed this summer.
Please reach out if you need anything. We are here to support you and your family.
Warmly,
Lisa Brozovich, Principal
Alisha Maulding, Assistant Principal
