Galax High School
Student of the Month: November
Join us as we Celebrate Our Students!
We are excited to begin a new tradition at GHS; Student of the Month. Every month, teachers from each department will select students to honor with this recognition. This year, we are placing an emphasis on the character traits:
- Focus
- Perseverance
- Attitude
- Kindness
- Belief
These character traits are a focal point of the video (linked below) that both students and staff watched at the beginning of the school year. You may recognize it from the Tide Times Family Newsletter as well.
The students of the month are proudly displayed in our commons area. Please join us in congratulating our November students of the month.
Career & Tech Ed: Arianna Hernandez Davis
Arianna has a sweet and quiet spirit - never complaining and always treating teachers and friends with the utmost respect. She absorbs knowledge and strives to understand, even when it gets hard. Quitting is never an option for Arianna. She isn’t afraid to ask questions to gain understanding and gives 100% always. She even takes time out of her own work to help classmates without hesitating. I am proud to nominate Arianna as the CTE student of the month.
Arianna demonstrates the character trait of perseverance.
English: Denise Solis
Denise is a wonderful student. She listens attentively to directions and uses any constructive criticism as a means to increase her knowledge base or skill level. Sometimes she struggles with composition, but I have watched her rapidly improve because she is focused on each assignment and learns from her mistakes. She also helps other students in class if they have been absent or are not fully understanding the material being covered. I cherish the fact that this young lady willingly works with any other student in group settings. She likes her classmates, and it is reciprocated. There has not been one day where Denise has not made me feel joy while teaching. She wants to be at GHS, and she desires to learn.
Denise demonstrates the character trait of focus.
