Weekly Update 4th Grade

• Sept. 22-26, FALL BREAK, No school

-Reading/ELA:

• Wit and Wisdom Module 1 Prep

-Math: Math Launch Unit:

• reading and writing multi-digit whole numbers to the hundred-thousands place using base-ten numerals & expanded form
• showing that a digit in one place has a value ten times greater than what it represents in the place to its right

-Science/Social Studies: Weather Instruments

• learning about weather instruments and what they are used for

-Writing: Cursive Writing Boot Camp

• Beginning learning about cursive writing

-Reading/ELA:

• Wit and Wisdom Module 1 (A Good Heart)

-Math: Math Launch Unit

• use place value reasoning to compare and order multi-digit numbers

-Science/Social Studies: Weather Maps

• observe, chart, and record weather data using weather instruments and weather maps

-Writing: Cursive Writing and Informative Writing

• continue writing letters in cursive
• learning about and practicing Informative Writing

• 2 one-inch binders

• 2 packs of 5-tab dividers

• 1 pack of Cursive writing paper

• 1 pack of wide ruled paper

• 1 pack of index cards

• 1 box of Number 2 pencils (preferably Ticonderoga)

• 1 pack of Highlighters

• 1 pack of EXPO dry erase markers

• Scissors

• Glue sticks (2-pack)

• 2 three-prong folders

• Eraser caps

• 3 boxes of tissues

• 2 bottles of hand sanitizer

• 2 containers of Lysol wipes

• 1 Pencil pouch

• Crayons and markers

Students may bring water bottles, but please ensure that they are spill-proof! Classroom temperature is sometimes difficult to control, so students may want to bring a sweater or jacket.

Auditions will be the first week your students come to music.
