TMHS Wildcat Choir

Our first concert is on Tuesday, September 8th at 7:00pm! This event is required of all choir members and will be worth 4 major grades - attire, punctuality, performance, and audience etiquette. Student call time for this concert will be 5:45pm. Students will wear blue jeans with no holes, closed-toe shoes, and their TMHS Choir Polo.

DISTRICT MOCK AUDITIONS ARE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 at 3:00pm. We are hoping to be done by 5:00pm with the auditions. All students auditioning for district must participate in mock auditions.

Students will meet in the Choir room after school and receive cuts. Audition order will be posted on next week's newsletter. After you sing your mock audition, you are free to leave. Comment sheets will be distributed the following day in class.

Rock The Block is our homecoming parade and is on Sept. 16! All choir students are invited to walk with choir throughout the parade. Our theme will be a throwback to 2016 which includes dressing in bright colors, fun patterns, palm trees, and animal prints.

District Auditions are Saturday, September 19th at Conroe HS. Students must meet at TMHS by 6:30am to travel to Conroe HS. Students may ride the bus or drive themselves, but all students auditioning must meet at TMHS at 6:30am. More information will be on the following newsletter regarding audition specifics.

Our 2027 Spring Trip will be to San Antonio and Bandera, Texas! The dates of the trip are April 22nd-25th. We will leave after school on Thursday and head to the Flying L Dude Ranch where there is great food, tennis, pickleball, basketball, putt putt, swimming, and more! On Sunday we will pack up and head to Six Flags Fiesta Texas for the day before heading back home to TMHS! Students traveling on the Spring Trip must be eligible due to missing school.

Please remember that the trip is not required but it is a lot of fun!

An email was sent out this week with information and contracts regarding the trip. Contracts and deposits are due on September 15th.

• High-quality video reference recordings of the TMEA audition etudes by the official etude selectors

• Guided walkthroughs of TMEA audition materials, including phrasing strategies, technique tips, and more

Congratulations to two of our choir members, Hunter Lagaly and Kaden Kanatani, for being athletes of the week!

Congratulations to The Major Chords for a very successful first performance at Open House last week!

Congrats to former TMHS Choir member Julie Ethridge for her highlight as a TMHS Alum this week!

This week, we’re proud to spotlight Julianna Ethridge, Class of 2020! After graduating from TMHS, Julianna attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and is now serving others as an Emergency Department Nurse.

One of Julianna’s favorite Wildcat memories was earning FIRST CHAIR at All-State Choir auditions, with her best friend by her side and Mrs. Dillow there to capture the entire moment. After four years of pushing herself to be the very best she could be, all that hard work paid off!

Julianna’s story is the perfect example of one of our BE CATS values: STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE

From the choir room to the emergency room, Julianna continues to make the Navy Empire proud!

Excellence was the tradition then. Excellence is the tradition now. #BECATS #NavyEmpire #ExcellenceIsTradition

Section of the week is back as we are in full swing in the choir room! Every week, the directors will select a section in each class that has done extraordinary work throughout the week. Sections are competing for the honor of being "section of the year" and winning donuts at the end of the year!
