Mr Lisseman - Headteacher

Dear Parents & Carers,

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, we were visited by Ofsted for our regular four-yearly inspection. This visit was under Ofsted’s new inspection framework, and we understand we are among the first schools in the country to be inspected in this way.

Over the two days, inspectors were all around the school: spending lots of time in lessons, talking with pupils and staff, meeting with leaders, looking closely at our curriculum and safeguarding, and working through a wide range of evidence about everyday life at our school. It was a busy, intense couple of days — and I couldn’t be prouder of how everyone responded.

While Ofsted does not allow schools to share inspection outcomes or judgements until the final report is published, I can say this: it was a real pleasure to show inspectors the school as it truly is. They saw teachers and support staff giving their very best — thoughtful planning, strong teaching, calm routines and relentless care for our children. They also saw our pupils at their absolute best: exemplary behaviour, genuine kindness, impressive focus in lessons, and real pride in their school. They were wonderful ambassadors.

A heartfelt thank you to the many parents and carers who completed Parent View or spoke with inspectors. Your feedback matters, and inspectors commented on both the number of responses and the quality of what parents shared. Thank you also to our pupils who spoke so openly and thoughtfully about their experiences.

Because we are in an early group of schools being inspected under this new framework, Ofsted has told us that the final report will take longer than usual to be published while reports are moderated and quality-assured across a wider group. This is expected and does not reflect any concerns about the school. We will share the report with families as soon as it is published.

Thank you again for your continued support — and a huge well done to our staff and pupils for everything they do, every day, and for the way they represented the school this week.

Student Bulletin Student Bulletin

Each Monday morning in tutor time, students and their form tutors review the weekly student bulletin. This is a round up of all the important information, notices and reminders that they need to know. The bulletin is also posted on the screens around school so they can refer back to it at any time.

Whole School Christmas Lunch and Jumper Day Whole School Christmas Lunch and Jumper Day

Christmas Jumper Day is on Wednesday 17th December!
We’ll be sharing a whole-school festive lunch (on us) prepared by our fantastic kitchen team, and we’d love everyone in their brightest Christmas jumpers to add to the merriment. Don't worry if you did not complete the form, all students will be able to receive a meal and join in the festivities.

If you are able, please send students in with £1 to wear their jumper — all donations go to Save the Children, and we’re hoping to raise a huge amount together. Packed lunches are still welcome for anyone who prefers.

Ms Horta, Mr Giordmania and Ms Farrell - Heads of House

Today at lunchtime, our Year 10 and Year 11 students rounded off our Christmas ornament decorating events — meaning the whole school has now had the chance to design and create their very own festive decoration!

It has been an absolute joy to see students across all year groups getting involved, showing creativity, enthusiasm, and plenty of Christmas spirit.

The festive fun didn’t stop there…

Today also saw the Heads of House busy judging classroom decorations for our Sparkle and Lights Competition. From twinkling lights to glittering displays, classrooms have been transformed, and the standard has been incredibly high (making judging very tricky!).

Winners will be announced next week, so keep your eyes peeled!

Thank you for supporting these events and helping us bring some extra joy and celebration to the final weeks of term. The Christmas spirit is well and truly in full swing at Twickenham School.

Mr Hayes - Head of PE

A huge well done to our Year 8/9 boys basketball team on their fantastic win in a friendly match this week! The team is building great momentum ahead of their season opener after the Christmas holidays.

Our Year 11 boys football team played out a thrilling 0-0 draw against Hampton High, creating plenty of chances to win. A strong performance that shows great promise for the season ahead.

Next Week in PE
It’s time for House Games! Students will represent their house in football, basketball, or dance. A fantastic opportunity to show teamwork, house spirit, and enjoy some friendly competition.
