Turner Elementary School
October 2026
Over the month of October
On the first students were able to "purchase" freeze pops during their recess time. These were purchased with their earned wildcat pride tickets. These tickets are given when staff sees the students following expectations and for being respectful, responsible & safe.
We have gotten a lot of our practice fire drills done throughout the month. Students have done great with this.
Students altogether earned over 1,000 wildcat pride tickets, which warranted a PJ or comfy clothes day. Most students participated and it was a lot of fun! It's awesome seeing all of the positive behaviors the students show on a daily basis, we are so proud of them.
Students worked hard on their NWEA testing on 10/14 & 10/15.
We appreciate that Wednesday's 2:00 dismissals have been going so smoothly. Thank you for getting any changes in dismissal plans to us in a timely manner. It helps tremendously to ensure our students get to the proper place!

Dear TES families,
Happy Spooky Season! I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the school year. I am writing this to inform everyone about everything going on in physical education right now.
At the time that I am writing this, all grade levels are playing pickleball. This is something that I did last year with only grades 5 and 6. This year, I decided to try it out with all grade levels and it has gone fantastic. I have been teaching everyone about the rules of pickleball and various skills involved. Everyone has learned so much and gained many skills in the process. I am excited to do more with it next year!
Coming up in November, I will be doing team building activities with all grade levels. In this unit, students will work with their classmates to accomplish many different tasks that I will set before them. They will use communication and collaboration skills in order to complete my challenges. I am excited to help everyone deepen their teamwork skills!
Just like always, feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks everyone!

Hi, everyone!
I thought it would be fun to share a few things about myself so you can get to know me a little better! You already know that Iām your band and chorus teacher, but here are a few other things you might not know about Mrs. K!
My favorite thing about music: creating it with my students!
My favorite food: Anything spicy...the spicier, the better!
My favorite color: Blue
Something I love to watch or read: Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings
My Halloween costume this year: Not sure...what do YOU think I should wear? Feel free to give me your suggestions!
What kind of teacher am I? I believe music class should be a place where you can try new things, make mistakes, learn something amazing, and have FUN! You don't have to be perfect to be a musician. You just have to be willing to give it a try!
I'm so excited to make music with you this year. I have a feeling we're going to have a LOT of fun together!
Keep singing, keep playing, and keep being YOU!
Mrs. K
