Dear Parent/Guardian:

Children need healthy meals to learn. Goochland County Public Schools offers healthy meals every school day. A student lunch costs $3.95 and breakfast costs $1.95. Your child(ren) may qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Please fill out an application to see if you qualify.

Each week we will link the breakfast and lunch menus at the bottom of this message.

You can add money to your child's lunch account using this link. You can always find this link at the bottom of the weekly newsletter!

We meet on the first Wednesday of the month, so please be on the look out for meeting information!

Wednesday October 21st is Unity Day! We encourage all of our students and staff to wear orange on this day to represent a school community that promotes kindness, acceptance, and inclusion and stands up against bullying!

The book fair will be at BES from October 21 - 26th. Students will get the preview the fair on Tuesday, October 22nd and then shop with their classes during their library ENCORE. Students can also shop with families on Thursday evening from 5-7pm during our Read for a Treat event.

We are gearing up for our annual Byrd Bazaar on November 12th. Make your calendar for this fun annual event that is held in our gym!

GCPS students in grades 4-12 will take the Student Experience Survey between October 26 and November 6. This survey gathers feedback on school climate, belonging, adult support, safety, and peer relationships to help us continuously improve our schools.

Preview the Questions: Review the survey in advance for Grades 4-5 or Grades 6-12.

Opt-Out Details: If you prefer your child not participate, please print, complete, and return the physical GCPS Opt-Out Form to your school’s main office.

The Goochland County Christmas Mother provides resources to enable qualified Goochland County Residents to receive food, clothing, toys and other essential items during the holiday season. We assist families with children, seniors age 60+, and those with a documented disability.

Please notify the office about transportation changes via email at beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us. If you have daily transportation needs, please make sure you provide changes at the beginning of each week for the entire week. Please make sure you have all transportation changes in prior to 1:00 PM, this allows staff time to communicate all necessary changes and avoids confusion when a call is not received. We appreciate your support.

Parents who wish to chaperone a field trip or volunteer regularly in our school must submit to a background check every 2 years using the BIB portal. The process is completely electronic.
