Meet your Principals!
Brooke Krey, Principal
Hello! My name is Brooke Krey, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Highland Elementary. As a proud graduate of Highland schools, it is truly a privilege to give back to the community that played such an important role in my own education and growth.
I began my career teaching students in grades 3â5 and have a background in special education and elementary education. For the past eight years, I have served in school administration, where I have been passionate about supporting students, partnering with families, empowering educators, and fostering a positive, engaging, and fun school community.
I am excited to get to know our students, families, and staff this year. I believe that strong relationships and open communication are the foundation of a successful school. By working together, we can create a learning environment where every student feels welcomed, challenged, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potentialâacademically, socially, and emotionally.
I look forward to meeting each of you, celebrating our students' successes, and partnering with you for an outstanding school year.
Go Bulldogs!
Erin Cotto, Assistant Principal
Welcome back to school! My name is Erin Cotto and I am honored to introduce myself as your new assistant principal. Having grown up in this community and as a proud Highland graduate, Iâm honored to continue serving the school community that has meant so much to me. Over the past two decades, Iâve dedicated my career to supporting our students, including 22 years teaching 5th grade at our elementary school.
My commitment to our students has also extended beyond the classroom. I spent 13 years coaching middle school dance, as well as 8 years coaching both boysâ and girlsâ varsity track and varsity dance. These experiences have strengthened my belief in the importance of encouragement, teamwork, and helping every student reach their potential.
As I begin this new leadership role, I look forward to building relationships with our students, families, and staff and supporting their success. Iâm especially excited to meet everyone at Back-to-School Night, which will be a wonderful opportunity to connect and begin the year together.
Open communication is important to me, and I welcome opportunities to listen, collaborate, and partner with families throughout the school year. I canât wait to work with you to make this a successful and rewarding year for all our students.
Letâs go DOGS!
