Special Field Trips

We had a lot of on the go learning in June. All students traveled to the Mockingbird Bookstore to select a summer reading book. This opportunity was made possible by the Georgetown Island Education Foundation. Students in grades 3-6 also had a boat trip with Maine Maritime Museum, and PreK-2 students visited the Richards Library.

GCS Field Day 2023

What a gorgeous day at Reid State Park for our end of the year field day. Students enjoyed bubbles, sponge relay, sandcastle creations, tag, bass fishing, and a lobster relay. For lunch, Ms. Angie, Mr. Willette, and Nikki Plummer, helped serve a delicious lunch.

PreK and K's Project Based Learning

The praying mantises's hatched in Mrs.Riva's classroom this week. How exciting it was to let them go in the pollinator garden. This was one way students learned how to help decrease the mosquito population on the playground.

Summer Learning

Students in grades K, 1, 2, 5 and 6 had summer work travel home for reading and writing. Completed journals can earn a gift certificate for ice cream at the Fountain. Keep up those reading and writing skills over the summer.
