Good afternoon,

As we are quickly approaching the start of school, I wanted to clarify a few things:

~Opening Day for all students is Thursday, August 17th! Doors open for breakfast at 8:20 am and 8:35 for all students. Please note the map to drop off students as safety is our priority. Students should not be dropped off in the bus lanes.

~Schedule Pick up is Wednesday, August 9th from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm & 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm. You may expedite the process by going onto Infinite Campus to update your information and pay school fees.

IC instructions

Students will receive their schedules, school pictures, chrome books and a string book bag! Students may choose their own string bags, but for safety reason's book bags will need to be kept in lockers. Each student should have a combination lock for their lockers.

GMSS is very proud to share our ROAR, as a state recognized silver award winning school! Students will bring home an informational letter for you to sign on opening day. ROAR stands for:

While this letter was sent out early in the summer, please take another moment to review with your child!

Cell Phone policy

Lunch codes are your student ID. These codes do not change from elementary. Please find the form for free/reduced lunch support on the GJPSfood.com

Due to the district policies and allergies of students, we are unable to have donut parties etc at lunch.

In addition, students often want to door dash. While we are supportive, door dash must not take away from class time if they are late and students with outside food may be asked to eat in the office or conference room as the disruption in the cafeteria is proving more than middle school students can manage.

Middle school sports are open to 7th and 8th grade students. Please see the following information from out Athletic Director, Garret Sendelbach. Sendelbachg@gjps.org

- In order to participate in tryouts/practices all of the following must be complete:

- An up to date physical that is on file or turned into coach

- Volleyball Tryouts: 5:00pm-8:00pm 7/31 & 8/1

- XC Practice: 8-9:15am 7/31- 8/3

- Girls Tennis Practice: 9:00am- 10:30am 8/1

- Boys Golf Practice: TBD

- Girls Golf Practice: TBD

- Football Practice: 4:30pm-6:15pm every weekday @ MSW
