Parent Teacher Conferences - 12:35 Dismissal and No Lunch Served

Please be sure to sign up for a parent-teacher conference by going to our Genesis Parent Portal and selecting the conferences tab. Conferences are from November 2nd - November 4th. Detailed directions are below.

1. Login to the MTSD Genesis Parent Portal.
2. Click on "student data" and then "conferences" tab along the left side of your screen
3. Select "request a conference"
4. Change the calendar to show the first week of November
5. Find the date and time you are available from the available time slots listed and choose "reserve".
6. Once you click "reserve" the time slot should then change to "scheduled".
7. If you have more than one student, please be sure to repeat this for each child attending Mansfield. To change the student you are scheduling conferences for, go to the upper right and click the student picture to see a dropdown menu of students associated with your account.

Technology plays a big role in learning, but finding the right balance matters. Take a moment to complete our Screen Time & EdTech Survey so we can better understand device use at home and in school. Your input helps guide our technology plans moving forward!

Ms. Ruth Byrne had the honor and pleasure of organizing the Art Educators of New Jersey fall conference this year around the theme "Art is Metaphoric," reflecting how changes, pressures, and constraints can be leveraged into a positive transformation. The conference brings together over 400 art educators to share best practices, new techniques, and inspiration. The community that forms around a shared passion for Art in Education makes her feel inspired, included, and supported.

It's so wonderful to spend time around people who share a passion for cardboard, mess-making, nourishing children's creativity and humanity, and the divergent, jumbled paths of creative thinking. These kinds of giant PLCs are how her praxis evolves to meet the educational moment. This conference is also a major part of AENJ fundraising efforts, which were able to give out $3,500 in student scholarships to high school graduates continuing in art fields. She is really proud of her contribution to this organization and to the field of Art Education, and appreciates the opportunity to share that accomplishment.

3rd grade GATE, students played around with static electricity and made their tissue paper ghosts stand up and dance! Students had a great time!

Mansfield Elementary hosted a county wide GATE event for fourth grade students this past Tuesday. Mindnastics, is a day of mind twisting language arts and math puzzles, challened 65 students to think outside the box and work with peers from neighboring schools.
