New Information
In the event the rumor of a threat or the direct observation of a threat occur in any of our schools, the school team immediately initiates an investigation and involves law enforcement as warranted. Our school officials are trained in the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines, widely recognized in school systems as CSTAG. While the threat is investigated, the person(s) identified as making the threat are sought out, isolated and supervised early in the process.
There are typically three possible outcomes that could occur. Please see the attached document for the outcomes.
REMINDER!!! Fall Conference Sign-ups are OPEN!
Our fall conferences provide families an opportunity to spend time with their child's teachers to celebrate growth, learn more about your child's progress, and continue to build the partnership between home and school.
Conferences will be held on:
Wednesday, November 18 | 5:00–8:00 PM
Monday, November 23 | 12:00–8:00 PM
While you have the option to meet with all of your child's teachers during conferences, there are only booking links available for your child's classroom teacher as our Specials and related services team join the classroom conference. If you would like a non classroom teacher to attend, please let that specific teacher know.
Booking links are shared through each teacher's classroom newsletter, and you can also find a complete list of the links on this spreadsheet. When you book your conference, be sure to include your child's name.
If you have any difficulty accessing the booking page or signing up for a time, please reach out directly to your child’s classroom teacher for assistance. Booking links will close on November 3rd.
We look forward to connecting with our families and sharing all of the learning and growth happening this fall!

Repeated Information
Fall Weather Reminder
With fall weather in full swing, we're also seeing some big temperature changes throughout the day! Please remember to dress your child in layers so they can stay comfortable as temperatures shift between chilly mornings and warmer afternoons. We plan to get our Eagles outside for recess whenever the weather allows, so having a jacket or sweatshirt available each day is especially helpful.
From Whitsons Culinary Group: Parent Food Service Survey
We are committed to providing students with a positive and enjoyable dining experience. As part of our ongoing effort to support the needs of our school community, we are partnering with Whitsons Culinary Group to gather feedback on our foodservice program. We invite students, families, faculty, and staff to participate in a brief survey and share their experiences and perspectives. Your feedback will help us better understand what is working well and identify opportunities to further enhance our meal program.
Your input will help us:
• Assess satisfaction with our current food service program
• Enhance the meal experience for students, families, and staff
• Enhance the overall dining experience throughout our schools
The survey will be available through November 6 and should take only a few minutes to complete. Responses will be collected by Whitsons and shared with our school administration as we work together to continuously improve the program. We encourage everyone who participates in our school meal program to take part. Your feedback is important and greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us create the best possible dining experience for our school community.
Your Input is Important!
Families are important partners in making Washington a welcoming and supportive community for every child. We invite you to share something you appreciate, an idea that could strengthen our school, or a way we can better support students and families.
All feedback will be reviewed regularly and considered as we plan for Washington’s continued growth. While we may not be able to act on every suggestion, every thoughtful contribution helps us better understand the experiences and perspectives of our families.
A Reminder About Toys at School
We are asking families to please help us by keeping toys and other personal items at home, including stuffed animals, fidgets, NeeDohs, squishy toys, and similar items. While we know these are fun and comforting for our young learners, they have increasingly become a source of distraction and conflict during the school day, particularly in bus lines and on the bus.
Our Eagles are still learning important skills like sharing, respecting others' belongings, and navigating friendships. Having toys at school can sometimes make those situations more challenging, especially when students want to touch, borrow, or take an item that belongs to someone else.
Please help us by checking backpacks and reminding your child that toys should stay at home unless specifically requested or approved by their teacher. We appreciate your partnership in helping us keep our classrooms, bus lines, and buses safe and focused on learning!

Notes from our Specials Team
Art
We are creating artworks inspired by the Fall season. We are also celebrating the end of Hispanic Heritage month by learning about artists and art from Hispanic culture.
Library
Book checkout is underway! Our Kindergarten students are currently checking out 1 book each week as they learn how to use the library and practice checking out and returning their books to school. Starting in the first week of November the Kindergartners can check out 2 library books each time they visit the library. Our 1st and 2nd grade students can check out 2 new books each week.
Thank you for helping your student return their library books when they are done reading them or within 2 weeks of checking them out!
PE
This month in PE, we’re kicking off our soccer unit and learning the basics of dribbling, passing, and shooting. Students will also be introduced to our Impossible Shot challenge! Ask your child to show you a soccer skill they’ve learned. Keep the fun going at home by kicking a ball around and practicing!
Visitor Procedures
All visitors, including parents/guardians and siblings, must enter through the front door of the building. Visitors should identify themselves and inform office personnel of their reason for being at school. After being buzzed into the vestibule, you will need to sign in on the iPad using our VisitorAware System. Once you are signed in, the office will let you in the building. This applies even if you are just coming in during the morning to ask a question. All visitors shall wear a printed visitor ID badge if further entry is required. Please be sure to return to the school office and sign out before leaving school.
Remote Learning Due to Inclement Weather
School District 75 is renewing our emergency remote plan for the years 2026 through 2029. This does not require the District to have e-learning days, but gives schools the opportunity to use them should the need arise.
Here is the link to the staff, student and family plan for your reference.
Before the end of September, students in Pre-k-5th Grades will receive a home learning packet that should only be opened and used if we require a home learning day. Please keep your packet in a safe place so you are ready to use it if needed.
Students in 6th through 8th grade will receive directions from their teachers through Google Classroom on the morning of the home learning day.
Attendance Matters!
Strong attendance habits begin on day one. When students are here consistently and on time, they benefit from direct instruction, collaboration with peers, and meaningful relationships with teachers. Please help us by encouraging your child to be present and ready to learn each day, every day truly counts.
