The Weekly Update #4
August 22nd, 2025
Week of August 25th
Hello SLA Families, Students, and Staff,
What an amazing second week we’ve had at Spring Leadership Academy! Walking through the halls, we’ve seen collaboration, academic conversations, and students truly focused on their learning. Way to go, Knights—you’re off to a strong start!
Next week, we’ll begin our Beginning-of-Year MAP Testing. These assessments help parents, students, and teachers understand each student’s current level and areas where they may need an extra boost. To do your best, remember to get a good night’s sleep and enjoy a healthy breakfast before testing.
✨ Dress Code Reminders:
-
Mondays – “Stand on Business” attire: Students are encouraged to dress in professional clothing.
-
Tuesday–Thursday – SLA Uniform: Grade-level SLA shirt, jeans or khakis, belt required, and shirts tucked in.
-
Fridays – SLA Uniform (unless otherwise announced). Please note: Free-Dress Fridays are no longer permitted.
🚫 Items Not Allowed: Leggings, yoga pants, sweatpants, workout pants, pajama pants, ripped jeans, and bubble skirts.
-
If a student wears any of these items, they will be required to call home for a change of clothes.
-
If a change of clothes cannot be provided, the student will spend the day in In-School Suspension (ISS).
For more details, please refer to the Spring ISD Student-Parent Handbook.
Be sure to read through the rest of this newsletter for important updates and upcoming events.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our Knights shine!
With Knight Pride,
The SLA Team
Parents, we’d love for you to join our SLA PTO!
Being part of the PTO is a wonderful way to make a difference in our school community while staying connected to your child’s experience at SLA. PTO members help support events, build school spirit, and create opportunities that benefit all of our Knights.
We’re currently looking for parents to serve on the PTO Board—a great way to share your ideas, meet other families, and even spend a little extra time on campus with your student.
🗳️ Next week, we will send out information on how parents can vote for PTO Board members.
📣 Then, Principal Suckie will announce the winners and read their names during Open House on September 16.
