AHS September Updates

Thank you for all the support with phones. We have had a great start. When we have had to keep phones till the end of the day, students have understood. We will continue to remind students about phones outside of lunch, but we appreciate all the support.

September 24th & 25th -- Herrff Jones here for ordering for Class rings and Graduation Swag along with caps and Gowns.

September 25th & 26th -- Parent Teacher Conferences. Advisory Teachers will be reaching out about setting up parent teacher conferences these days.

ID's -- Students are expected to have their ID on them and visible while at school We will start random classroom checks to ensure students have ID's on. Students not wearing their ID will receive Lunch Detention. Students need their ID to purchase Dance tickets as well as to enter the Homecoming Dance.

Tardy Sweep consequences will change in September. Instead of getting Lunch Detention for 3 sweeps, it will go to ISS. Need students to class and on time.

Attendance Notifications -- Tier 2 letters will be going out automatically on September 2nd. This will for anyone who has 5% or higher truancy rate. Truancy rate is calculated by dividing how total days missed by the total number of days in school.

For Homecoming, students need to be under 10% to be able to purchase a the homecoming dance.

NO Doordash or outside food.

We cannot be held responsible for getting McDonalds, pizza ect delivered to your child. Lunch is free for every student. We will not deliver or allow students to accept outside food brought it. This does not mean students cannot bring a lunch. This means, we will not allow fast food deliveries at lunch time.

Contact Information

Please be sure you have current contact information in PowerSchool such as updated phone numbers and pick up list. This way we can be sure to communicate with you in the best way. We are happy to help you with any changes you may need to make. Please be sure to check who you have recorded in PowerSchool to be able to pick up your child. We cannot release students to people who are not on your pick up list. We want to make this process as painless as possible for you.

Medicine at School Policy-- Please see the attached form about students bringing medication to school.

Personal Laptops -- personal laptops are not permitted at school. Students should have a Chromebook checked out to them for school work.

Upcoming Testing -- Mid October will be PSAT testing in some form for all Freshman - Juniors.

Homecoming and the Fair are landing in the same week this year! In an effort to participate in both, we are condensing some activities for the week.

Monday 15th & Tuesday the 16th -- AHS RUSH!! We will have clubs out in the commons to get students involved.
