Summer Reading!

Dear Cedars Staff and Families,

I can't believe it's already July. I hope you've had time to relax and hopefully READ! It's going to be very important that we continue to read each day.

Our summer reading incentive this summer is Bingo and we'd love everyone to participate, even teachers! You can access the Bingo card here or below. Once you have completed all the activities, take a picture and email it to Mrs. Reichenau (areichenau@cedars-academy.org) or Ms. Rolfe (srolfe@cedars-academy.org). Prizes will be awarded in August. Feel free to post pictures, videos, and/or brief summaries of what you've read on Cedars Facebook, Twitter, and/or YouTube. #CedarsLovesReading

In addition, all summer long we will have teachers and administrators read aloud their favorite book on zoom every Friday! Come, relax, sit back, and listen! A schedule will be sent out soon! Let's create a huge reading and literacy presence this summer on social media at CIA!

Have a great summer and keep reading!

Ms. Rauls and Mrs. Aguilar

CEDARS SUMMER READING LIST

Cedars Summer Reading List

Each summer Cedars circulates new summer reading lists for grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and high school. The lists were adopted from ALSC (Association for Library Service to Children), ILA (International Literacy Association) Texas Bluebonnet List. The criteria for many of the books on these lists were based on overall appeal, exposure to authors, diversity, genre variety, and relevance. Summer reading is a chance for students to learn to read for pleasure. To access the lists and more click here or the Cedars Summer List icon above.
