State Testing Reminders 2024

As you may know, our students will take the State of Colorado’s Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) Science assessment in April as well as the SAT, PSAT10 and PSAT9. This assessment will be done using the BlueBook application on district chromebooks. Students who are enrolled in the 1:Web Program, will be required to bring their device to school. Students who have opted out will be given a loaner device for test administration.

Families who would not wish to have their students take any of the tests listed above, should fill out this opt out form no later than March 5th. Click here for additional information about testing, including a general schedule of these assessments in the Boulder Valley School District, including the grades affected. The make up date for the SAT will be Thursday April 25th. There will be no makeup dates for PSAT 10 or PSAT 9.

ASSOCIATE DEGREE INFORMATION NIGHT

As you may have read in The Spot, BVSD students can now earn an Associate Degree, tuition free. We are inviting current 8th and 9th Grade families to attend the BVSD Associate Degree Information Night at the BVSD Education Center located at 6500 Arapahoe Ave. Boulder, CO.

We will have two different sessions for the Associate Degree Information Night on Monday, April 15th:

  • 5:00 - 5:45 p.m. - English Session
  • 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. - Spanish Session

During the Associate Degree Information Night, families will learn about the requirements and options for associate degree completion via Front Range Community College (FRCC) through BVSD college courses taken at their own high school or via online courses. We will also walk families through an example associate degree pathway.

The associate degree and the corresponding course credits from FRCC are accepted at most in-state public universities, colleges and institutions and can be applied toward a bachelor’s degree.

All students are capable of taking these courses and successfully earning college credit while in high school! Learn more about how your student can earn college credits by visiting the College Before Graduation webpage.

In addition, families will learn about how students can earn one year of free college tuition via the Accelerating Students through Concurrent Enrollment (ASCENT) Program.

We hope you’ll be able to join us, thank you for your RSVP.
