Week 9: End of Q1, LSC, Healthy Student Market & Coffee w/ Principal Week 9: End of Q1, LSC, Healthy Student Market & Coffee w/ Principal

Dear New Field families,

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend, and that all who came out for Fall Fest had an enjoyable, positive experience. I know my husband and I had a great time connecting with you all, engaging in fun activities and experiencing the magic of the fall season through children's eyes. We hosted well over 200 students/children at this year's event and were able to fundraise over $2,300. Your contributions go straight into sustaining our community events, so a big thank you for your donations - whether it was through ticket sales, t-shirt purchases, buying snacks or a simple donation - every dollar counts, thank you!

Week 9 brings us the 40th day of school and the end of the first quarter. All families should have received information about scheduling a report card conference appointment directly from your child's classroom teacher. Please check your email and/or your child's backpack for more specific information.

Week 9 also includes many family engagement opportunities. On Tuesday, October 20 we have our regular, monthly LSC meeting at 5:00 in our school library. On Thursday, October 22 we have our monthly Healthy Student Market with free, fresh and nutritious groceries for all New Field and Eugene Field families. Finally on Friday, October 23 we have our monthly Coffee with the Principal.

Lastly, this week we are so excited to host the senior leadership team from Advocate Children's Health System for a day of community service. On Tuesday, October 20, New Field will host 50-70 corporate volunteers who will contribute to the beautification of our school spaces, as well as host a career fair for all of our third and fourth grade students. As a neighborhood school, we firmly believe in the power of community connectedness, and it is encouraging to see partners like Advocate Health invest in our young learners.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.

Warmly,

Conrey Callahan

Principal, New Field ES
