Kids say the Darndest things!

Mrs. Maddox: (showing picture of Benjamin 'Doc' Kerley), "This picture was taken of Mr. Kerley 100 years ago!"

Student: "Oh, did he give you that in person?"

Library lessons and activities

Mrs. Maddox had some wonderful lessons, here is a highlight: April is Poetry Month we read a book made up of Haiku Poems that told the story of a dog who needed a home.

We learned about Doc Kerley's life the last week of March and how he contributed to an all inclusive education here in Hutto back in the early 1900's.

Gearing up for Book Fair and enjoying our in person Spring Book Fair.

Mini-Maker Space improv has been enjoyed throughout the year at our different stations throughout the Library, along with the collaborative sticker by number activity every month, which is a favorite.

Mrs. Maddox's has a Library Shout out each Wednesday to recognize students that exemplify the Hippo Way in the Library. For example, helping another friend find a book, shelving books from the book cart, being kind to their friends, listening and participating in the lesson. Those that have earned the award are given a free book!
