Spanish Honor Society

La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish Honor Society) enjoyed a day at Museo de las Américas in Denver. The students created a mural in the style of Diego Rivera and took a tour of local murals that represent moments from Denver's Chicano history and themes from Latin American culture. We got a new perspective on Colorado history and experienced first-hand the power of art to bring people together. ¿Te gusta nuestro mural?

Congratulations are in Order!

Congratulations to Amaya Rogers for placing first in the Colorado Mock Trial state competition as a courtroom artist. Amaya will next be representing DCHS at the national mock trial competition in May.

Gifted & Talented Update

Gifted and Talented students from around the district recently participated in a showcase at Legacy Campus, where they shared their passions and talents with members of the community.

We had four students from DC represent our Gifted and Talented program at the event. Anna Johnson (12th grade) presented her charcoal drawings, Pen Martin (10th grade) displayed a variety of artistic styles and paintings, Karis Bard (11th grade) showcased her handmade polymer clay figures, and Owen Hasselback (11th grade) exhibited several of his original paintings. We are excited to share our students’ talents with the broader community and celebrate their creativity and dedication.

Career Week for GIRLs

3 Weeks in June that can change a lifetime!

The HOYA Foundation started Career Week for GIRLs to encourage more young women to pursue careers in transportation and construction. Why? Because only 11% of the construction workforce is women. That fact carries economic implications and substantial opportunities.

Over one week, girls – ranging from 13 to 23 years old – make five stops to engage with women, ask questions and tour work sites. Each company puts together a day long insight into their company and into the industry.

Five Days Can Change a Life

There are three weeks in June: June 1-5, June 8-12 or June 22-26

There is no cost to those girls that are selected.

The application is open online

HERE
