May 2026Greetings, Wolfpack!

4th Quarter at Agnes Stewart πŸŽ“ 4th Quarter at Agnes Stewart πŸŽ“

As we head into the fourth quarter, it’s hard to believe how quickly the school year is flying by! Spring is always one of the most exciting times in middle school, and we have so many great opportunities ahead for our students to learn, grow, and connect.

May has arrived, and with it comes one of the busiest and most exciting times of the school year! As we head into the final stretch, our students and staff are working hard, celebrating accomplishments, and preparing for many memorable end-of-year events.

This month brings important opportunities including state testing, spring activities, student celebrations, concerts, field trips, and promotion preparations for our 8th graders. We encourage all students to stay focused, finish strong, and continue showing the pride, responsibility, and kindness that make our school community so special.

Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and encouragement throughout the school year. We are grateful for our amazing families and look forward to a fantastic month ahead!

Let’s finish the year strong, together! πŸ’ͺπŸ“š

Warmly,

Agnes Stewart Middle School

Attendance Reminder for Families πŸ“š

If you receive an attendance call after school, please connect directly with your child’s teacher through ParentVUE rather than calling the office. Our office staff aren’t in the classroom and don’t have the specific details for individual tardies or absences. Teachers are your best (and fastest!) source of information when it comes to attendance. Thank you for helping us keep communication smooth and efficient!

This is the primary way to enroll your student each year and connect with your students teachers!

We have important info about the change to the ParentVUE App. In early August, we will be adopting Synergy v2027 which will replace the old ParentVue App.

  • ParentVUE (new) – Purple - Hollow Swirl – adopt anytime
  • ParentVUE – Colorful Swirl – won’t work past Aug – uninstall once the new one is working

The purpose of the parentVUE app is to support monitoring your students’ grades and attendance as well as connecting with their teachers. This app highlights your student’s academic progress, missing assignments, e-mail communication from teachers, and current scores in all classes.

  • ParentVUE App can be found here.

  • If you need help activating your account, please reach out to our School Registrar - Chelsea Wilmot

    • chelsea.wilmot@springfield.k12.or.us or 541-988-2520

If you are having issues with your app, please delete the app and re download!

*As a reminder - please have your student bring their chromebook and charger with them to school*

We have several Student Unions here at Agnes Stewart who meet on most Early Release days. Last week, the NASU met and created their very own medicine bags.

The process to make a medicine bag could include stitching two pieces of leather together, adding fringe or beading for decoration, and creating a drawstring closure for a necklace, focusing on intention and personal significance.

BSU Conference BSU Conference

Last Friday, students from across Springfield Public Schools came together for our district-wide Black Student Union Conference, Black Brilliance in Motion . Throughout the day, students engaged with community leaders, artists, and educators in spaces that centered identity, leadership, and possibility.

Lexi ShardΓ©, local comedian and owner of Lexi’s Comedy Club, served as an exceptional master of ceremonies, bringing energy and connection to the entire event. The West African Cultural Arts Institute once again delivered a powerful performance that grounded the day in movement, culture, and shared experience.

Students built strong connections with one another and with community partners, engaging in conversations that extended beyond the sessions themselves. They also connected with representatives from the University of Oregon and Oregon State Universityβ€”reminding us that even longtime rivals can come together in support of students.

This event was supported through strong community partnerships, including the Springfield Education Foundation and several local organizations who continue to invest in our students. Thank you to everyone who helped bring it together!
