Legacy Ledger
April 13, 2026
LEADERSHIP LETTER
Dear Legacy Families,
Over the last few days, many of us have been reflecting on how quickly the year has flown by! We are officially in the end-of-year activities including state testing (CMAS), internal benchmark testing, and celebration events for the year.
Our push for staff this year has been to create and practice habits that allow us to end this school year with strength and joy! School years are a marathon, not a sprint, and Stephen Covey’s second principle, “begin with the end in mind” is one of the powerful practices that set us up for success with that goal. Here we are, closing in on the end of a fabulous school year.
There are lots of exciting events, field trips, and special days coming up, so stay tuned to The Legacy Ledger to not miss any of it!
Cheers to 5 ½ more weeks!
Anna Bengtsson
Elementary Assistant Principal
LABOD Meeting - Meet the Candidates
The LABOD (Legacy Academy Board of Directors) will have a board meeting on April 14, 2026 at 6pm in the cafeteria (AGENDA HERE). If you cannot attend the LABOD meeting in person, feel free to watch via this Zoom link. You can find the past meeting minutes on our website or click HERE. Attending these meetings counts towards volunteer time. We have also invited the candidates running for open board positions to this meeting so they can introduce themselves and answer any questions you may have. Board elections will be April 23rd.
THANK YOU
Thank you to the PTCO for organizing snacks during CMAS testing. We would like to give an extra big thank you to: Cymber, Jessica, Misty, Laura, Jackie and Vickey(for organizing ALL of it). You are very appreciated!
From the Front Office
We have moved to a new visitor system. Due to this change, ALL visitors must have a driver's license every time they check in electronically at the front desk. Thank you for keeping our school safe!
R.O.A.R. Store
Our last R.O.A.R. Store will be May 11th (we will not have one in April). Legacy Academy focuses on the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of our students. Character education in schools can have an impact on a student’s social skills, work ethic, and general wellbeing. While our students' moral and ethical compass begin at home, Legacy believes character education is beneficial for improved academics through positive classroom behavior. Elementary students earn R.O.A.R. tickets and middle school earn T.W.I.X. tickets. If you would like to help out at the store, please sign up below.
Spring Picture Orders
The "Smile" Update from MJ Thomas:
- Already Ordered? We are hard at work getting those portraits ready for the families who pre-ordered!
Waiting to see the photo? For any students who haven't ordered yet, keep an eye out! We will be sending printed proofs to the school soon. This way, parents can see their child’s sweet smile first and then easily order online.
Need a hand? We want to make this as easy as possible for families. If parents have questions or want to place an order over the phone, please send them right to our friendly Customer Service team at 970-241-2467 or support@mymjthomas.com. We’re here to help!
PTCO K-5th Field Day - April 23rd - Rain or Shine
Kindergarten-1st grades will participate in field day from 8-10:30am. Their lunch will be a normal lunch (hot or cold lunch in the cafeteria).
2nd-5th grades will participate in field day from 10:45am-2:50pm. These students must bring a sack lunch.
To help us maintain a smooth flow of activities, we will ask parents that are watching the events to remain in the designated spectator areas (perimeter) and refrain from entering the field (games) area. This area will only be accessible to our volunteers that have completed their background checks and attended the informational parent volunteer meeting. Families are invited to watch. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the day at Legacy.
If you wish to have lunch with your child (in the secure area) you must check in with the office and have a current background check completed. If you wish to leave with your child you must first check them out at the front desk.
Field Day Checklist:
Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes (no crocks).
Please apply sunscreen before school.
2-5th grades will need to bring a sack lunch
Snacks
Water
Hat and sunglasses
Hoodie
Volunteers will be asked to work the duration of the event. They will meet in the gym at 7:15am for a quick meeting. Then set up the field at 7:30am. Please help return items to the gym at 3pm, this should take 10-15 minutes.
If field day is held in the gym, due to weather, we ask that parents stay in the bleachers and not access the games/court unless you are a volunteer. Thank you for respecting a safe, fun, and orderly event.
