Dear Washington Families,

It is with great excitement that I write to you today. I am honored to join the Washington School community and serve as your principal. From everything I've learned, it's clear that Washington is a special place - one built on strong relationships, dedicated educators, engaged families, and a longstanding tradition of excellence. I look forward to us building on that strong foundation while embracing the opportunities ahead.

For the past six years, I have had the privilege of serving as principal of Lincoln School, working alongside an exceptional staff and community committed to helping every child learn, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging. Prior to that, I served as both a classroom teacher and district administrator. These experiences have given me the opportunity to support students from early childhood through twelfth grade, work alongside students with a wide range of learning profiles, and develop a deep appreciation for the strengths and needs of every learner. Throughout my career, one belief has remained constant: the strongest schools are built through trust, collaboration, and meaningful partnerships with families.

Over the past several weeks, I have been working closely with Dr. Perry to ensure a smooth transition, and I've already had the opportunity to meet many members of the Washington community. I have enjoyed hearing what families love most about Washington, the traditions that make our school unique, and the hopes you have for the future.

Washington is entering an exciting new chapter. Over the next two years, our school will undergo significant facility improvements while also expanding programming to better serve students across our district. While these changes will require flexibility, they also represent an important investment in our students and in the future of Washington School.

In the coming weeks, I will share a follow-up communication with additional information about the upcoming school year, including updates on construction, programming, and other important school information. My goal is to ensure families feel informed, supported, and prepared well before September.

I also hope to connect with many of you this summer. Please join me for one of the following informal opportunities to meet, ask questions, or simply say hello.
