A Look Back at Halloween A Look Back at Halloween

From PBIS celebrations to costume parades!

This last Monday was one of those days that students will remember for a long time to come. Our whole school celebration kicked off the day and students rotated around to different activities that then led to the annual pumpkin rolling competition. In a huge upset the 7th and 8th graders got the best of the teachers this year! The afternoon was a huge success with classroom parties and our costume parade. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and community members who came out to watch and hand out candy. We love the community involvement and partnership with the school and I know it made the kids day as well.

Student Led Newsletter Student Led Newsletter

On Monday, I sent out the link to the new student led newsletter. We learned from several parents that tried to view the newsletter that we needed to adjust our settings in the website for it to be able to be viewed by those outside of our ccsuvt.net network. I worked with the students to show them how to change these settings. Parents and community members should now be able to click on the link and take them to the new site!

Halloween Door Decorating Competition Halloween Door Decorating Competition

Congratulations, the winner of this year's Halloween door decorating competition is Mrs. Russell's room! The brownies for the judges baked by Mya helped nudge out the Kindergarten class by only 2 points.

Taking Time to Reflect Taking Time to Reflect

Students and teachers alike are encouraged to take a few minutes on a daily basis to reflect on themselves as both learners and educators alike. At the end of the day, we all have to go to our mirrors and ask the person looking back, "what are you doing to change the world?" Constantly growing as a person, student or professional requires constant self-reflection and internal examination of how one interacts with students, classmates and peers and seeks to meet their learning and social needs -- as they are.

Walden PTA Holiday Fair: Auction, Vendors & Spaghetti Dinner Night!

We are excited to support Walden School and our local companies and vendors by organizing a holiday fair and dinner. We hope the community will come out to support local vendors, enjoy a sense of community, meet some of our terrific kids, and possibly bid on some great auction items that will benefit our school. Funds raised go toward field trip expenses, allowing students more enriching opportunities outside of the classroom. Stay tuned, more details will be coming!

If you are interested in donating something to the auction, or if you are a talented person who would like to offer entertainment for some portion of the evening (comedy, music, magic, etc), please contact us at waldenvtpta@gmail.com.

Thank you,

Walden PTA
