9th grade students and 8th grade students who are in credited classes will be exempt from a semester test if they meet the following requirements:

a. A student with a 90% average or higher for the 1st/2nd quarter and/or 3rd/4th quarter and are only absent four or fewer days per semester of the class period

b. A student with an 80% average or higher for the 1st/2nd quarter and/or 3rd/4th quarter and misses three or fewer days per semester of the class period.

-All absences count toward the exemption policy EXCEPT for school related and medical absences.

-Three tardies are equivalent to one absence for exemption purposes, whether excused or not.

Girls soccer will be having tryouts December 8th and 9th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Tryouts will be in the high school indoor facility. Make sure to bring an updated physical, cleats, running shoes, and water. Contact Coach Brueckner at falon.brueckner@rsdk12.net with any questions.

• RJHS LDE Practices for FFA are November 5,12; December 3, 17; January 7th (all of these are 3:30-5:30 @ RJHS) and the Sub Area LDE Contest is January 14th in Dover.

• FFA Christmas Party is December 18th 4-5:30 in my RJHS Classroom

• We will be working on the FFA Christmas float December 3rd and 4th after school as well.

The National Junior Honor Society is hosting our annual Toy Drive. Donations will be given to kids in need at Crawford Elementary. We are accepting toys that are unwrapped and appropriate for children ages 5-10. Donors will be entered into a drawing!

If you're interested in participating, you can bring these unwrapped donations to Mrs. Hubbard's classroom. This is such a fun, enriching experience for these kids and our students, so it's an honor to get to host it for another year. Our last day of accepting gifts is next Wednesday, December 10 so that we can make an end of the week delivery to Crawford.

Due to problems with students signing up for service hours and then not showing up:

-When someone does this, the organization loses a worker, and no other students can claim the service hours. Therefore, it is very important that students show up to service hours when they sign up for them.

If a student is not able to attend, contact the person whose name/email/phone number are listed in Mobile Serve and remove your name from the event as soon as possible.

*RJHS Admin will begin assigning lunch detentions for students who sign up for hours and then fail to show up.

Students are able to find events and register for them through the MobileServe website and the phone app. Students can sign into both of them using your school email and password.

Participation Rules:

* Only 3 Book Talk tickets can be earned per subject or teacher, for a total of 15 bonus points EACH QUARTER to be used at the teacher’s discretion.

*Students can earn an extra ticket into the Monthly Reading Challenge by book talking books they have read off the Monthly challenge shelf or books that fit within the challenge for the month.

*Mrs. Baldwin has the ability to deny book talk tickets if she feels the student did not read the book; per her discretion.

It is the goal of RJHS teachers and staff to keep student grades updated weekly for parents and guardians to stay aware of their child's/ children's progress throughout the semester. If you are having trouble accessing HAC (Home Access Center) you can email Jennifer Roberts for help with login credentials.

Student breakfast is free to all students

Student second breakfast is: $2.70

Free and reduced meals are all free to families

Student Paid Lunch Price: $3.25

Student Second Lunch is: $4.70

The RJHS Cafeteria offers a variety of ala carte items such a bottled drinks and pre-packaged snacks. Students WILL NOT be allowed to charge these items to their lunch account. They must have payment in hand to purchase these items from the RJHS cafeteria.

Reminder, Free and Reduced Lunch application do not automatically renew and must be completed each year. You can visit: https://linqconnect.com/public/meal-application/new to apply online.

RJHS students are issued at the beginning of this school year.It is REQUIRED that students wearn their badges around their neck every day. They will need them daily as a student at RJHS. These badges are used in the cafeteria to charge lunch accounts, in the library to check out books, and with our Technology department to check out and repair laptops. Please remind your student(s) to keep their ID badge with them in a safe place every day.

*Students will also be required to show their ID if they wish to get into any RSD athletic event for free.
