High School Music Students Head to Disney World this Spring
A group of students in the Chelsea High School Jazz Band and Cantare learned last Friday that they will be performing at Walt Disney World this spring! The students were selected to perform after submitting an audition featuring music performed at the CHS Winter Concert. They will now get to experience the magic of Disney World where they will perform a selection of jazz-based music!
We will have plenty more information to share about this incredible opportunity for our students. A special thank you to State Senator Sal DiDomenico for his role in making this possible.
Rehearsals have already started for this performance at the “Most Magical Place on Earth”!
Richard Carranza Visits Chelsea Public Schools
Chelsea Public Schools had the pleasure of welcoming Richard Carranza, the former Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education and Superintendent of Schools in both Houston and San Francisco, to the district this week!
Richard spent time at Chelsea High School where he visited classrooms, listened to and had conversations with CHS students, presented to CHS staff and participated in a conversation with family members from schools across the district. He even gave a special musical performance to CHS staff!
A nationally respected educational leader, he shared valuable insights on the importance of school culture, resilience and adaptability, family empowerment and so much more. Thank you, Richard, for spending time in Chelsea and getting to know our school community by name, strength and story!
