Thank you to everyone who made today's assembly a success. It was so wonderful to spend the morning with our area veterans. Our middle school was represented very well by numerous student readers and volunteers.

Devices and Family Life

• Let's face it: Shutting down the white noise of the digital world is tough.
• Talk with your child about the role of devices in your family life.
• Ask your child how he/she feels about your device use. (Sometimes this is eye-opening)
• Tell your child how you feel about his/her device use.
• Make an agreement to have two hours per day free of devices.
• Use this time to talk and hang out with your child.

• We all enjoy spending time on our phones so don't always fight it.
• Make devices work for your family, enriching your live and challenging you, instead of overwhelming you.

• Find time to use devices together and share all the positive uses of technology.
• Great conversations can be sparked by using technology together.
• This creates times to share what you learned in a search, funny videos you found, or pictures you took throughout the week.

Some of the best moments are shared by families when they put down the devices AND when they use devices with their families.
