Message From School Administration
Dear Lisbon Families,
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, we encourage all of our students to finish strong by continuing to give their best effort and demonstrating positive learning behaviors each day. While summer is just around the corner, we still have important learning ahead of us, along with several fun opportunities to celebrate a successful school year together. Every day counts, and we are excited to make the most of our remaining time with our students.
As we prepare to enter the summer season, please remember to check our Lost and Found. We have many jackets, water bottles, lunch boxes, and other items hoping to be reunited with their owners. Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the student day on Thursday, June 17.
A special thank you goes to our PTA for organizing an amazing Bingo Night last Friday! It was wonderful to see so many families come together for an evening of fun and community. We are grateful for the time and effort our PTA volunteers dedicate to creating memorable experiences for our students and families. We hope to see you at the in-person PTA meeting on June 10th. We will be sharing some important building updates for next year.
We hope to see everyone again at our End-of-Year Picnic tonight as we continue celebrating another fantastic year at Lisbon Elementary. Thank you for your partnership and support as we work together to finish the school year strong!
Have a great weekend,
Dr. Carr & Mr. Scobie

PTA News
Pocket Pantry
Howard County has launched a community-led initiative called the Pocket Pantry program. The Pocket Pantry offers residents in need free perishable and non-perishable food items, 24/7, no questions asked.
The goal of the Pocket Pantry program is to contribute to family and community wellness by reducing food waste, increasing food access, building community, promoting dignity and choice, and encouraging community sustainability.
In addition to our monthly Park- It -Market, sponsored by Glenelg United Methodist Church, Lisbon families and community members may now access a Lisbon Pocket Pantry at any time at the following location:
Heritage Realty Services, 15950 North Avenue, Lisbon
(sponsored by Glenelg United Methodist Church)
The refrigerator and accompanying pantry shelves are stocked with items such as fresh produce, dairy, meats and canned goods. Anyone can take what they need at any time. Community members are encouraged to donate food, non-perishable items as well as prepared meals.
Complete Family File
Please assist us by completing your Family File at hcpss.org/connect.
- Parents/guardians must verify and/or update emergency information for each child every school year. This is completed online in Family File, which has several new updates including how and where to access. Full details on updating your Family File are available online. Please let us know if you need assistance.
Change of Address
Any change of residency must be reported through Family File within 10 school days of the move. Current residency documentation must be provided to the school each time residency changes.
Student Meals & Payments
For the 2025-2026 school year, HCPSS will be using LINQ Connect for all things food and nutrition. LINQ Connect is a secure, online portal that allows families to make online payments to their child’s meal account, monitor their child’s account, schedule automatic recurring payments, set up low balance alerts, submit a Free and Reduced Meals program application, and more.
Free and Reduced Meals-check your eligibility today!
Students whose families do not qualify for free or reduced lunch will be required to pay the daily meal price. Many HCPSS families are eligible to participate in the Free and Reduced Price Meals (FARMs) program, which provides children with a wide range of benefits including free or discounted college tuition, testing and application fees, academic and athletic program fees, and many others in addition to free or discounted meals. Families are urged to check their eligibility and complete a FARMs application as soon as possible. Families must submit a new application every school year. Details on the Free and Reduced Meals program, including a link to apply, are available online.
