Hello, East Cub Families!

I am absolutely thrilled to welcome you to the very first edition of our East Elementary Cubs newsletter—Little Paws Press! This is a brand-new adventure for all of us, and I couldn’t be more excited to be leading such an incredible East team as we open our doors to our youngest learners.

At East, our focus is simple yet powerful: we are committed to building a safe, positive, and welcoming learning community where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow. We want East to be a place where families feel connected, staff feel supported, and students truly love coming to school each day.

A little about me—I have been an educator for 25 years. I began as a classroom teacher, where I taught for 15 years before stepping into the role of instructional coach for 5 years. I am now beginning my 5th year as a principal. Through all of these experiences, one truth has guided me: the foundation of a strong school is relationships. Building meaningful connections with students, families, and staff is at the heart of everything I do, and it will be at the heart of all we do together at East.

As we begin this exciting first year together, please know that my door is always open. I look forward to meeting you, learning alongside you, and celebrating the many milestones—big and small—that will mark this special year for our Cubs. Together, we’ll create a joyful school community where little paws leave big prints!

(birth certificates and shot records) and just happy to say hello!

The doors are open but staff will be in and out until the first day of school.

Just give us a ring to be sure someone will be here when you need to stop by.

8/25 thru 8/29 = KIBSD Faculty/Staff Inservice Training

9/2 = 1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade Family Conferences (Be sure to sign up for a time on 8/25.)

9/3 = 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade = First Day of School!

9/2 thru 9/5 = Kindergarten Family Conferences (Teachers will call families to schedule.)

9/8 = Kindergarten First Day of School!

9/25 - East Elementary Open House 5-6:30pm

We are so excited to see everyone and welcome our East Cub family to school!

Class lists will be posted on Monday, August 25th from 3-5pm.

Sign-up sheets for family conference times will also be posted at this time.

Please be sure to sign up for a time the that works for you.

These conferences are a great time to meet teachers, set learning goals and check out classrooms.

If your schooling plans have changed over the summer and your student will

not be attending East this year, please call or email Ms. Natalie in the office to make that update.

We know families are curious how bussing will work this year.

The schedule is being finalized and our parking lot pick-up and drop-off routine is in the works.

We will get all those important details and schedules out to you as soon as we can.

If you have a general bussing question and want to check bus routes,

The re-enrollment process ensures that your student's

information is updated and correct in Powerschool.

First Grade = 11:35am

Families are always welcome to join their students for lunch time!

Be sure to sign in with the office before heading to cafeteria.

Please bring your own lunch or call in the morning to order an adult meal.

Adult meals are $9.00 this year.
