CMAS Testing Reminders
In April, our 3rd through 8th-grade students will participate in the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments. These students will take English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. In addition, 4th and 7th-graders will take Social Studies, and 5th and 8th-graders will take Science. Testing will take place from April 6 through April 23, 2026. Students do not have school on April 24, 2026.
These state assessments, developed by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and teachers across the state, measure how well students are mastering Colorado’s academic standards. The results provide valuable information about your child’s progress and help our teachers refine instruction, strengthen supports, and plan for the upcoming school year. Just as important, participation ensures we have accurate information about how our school is serving all students and where we can continue to improve.
Your child’s participation is essential; when students take part in CMAS, the results more fully reflect the learning happening in our classrooms and help guide decisions about programs, resources, and supports that directly benefit our school community.
To support your child during testing:
- Please prioritize attendance on testing days.
- Avoid scheduling appointments between April 6–23 if possible.
- Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep, arrives on time, and is ready to do their best.
If your child must be absent, please contact your child’s teacher or the front office so we can arrange a make-up session.
Please know, due to test security, learners will not have access to personal cell phones, air pods, smart watches, or Meta glasses during test sessions. Medical monitoring devices are the only exception. Please call our office if you need to communicate with your child.
Additional information, including a general state assessment schedule and frequently asked questions, is available on the Thompson School District website under Assessments of Learning. You may also explore resources from CDE through their Assessment website at https://ed.cde.state.co.us/assessment, including information about the role and purpose of state assessments and family guides to finding and understanding results.
We appreciate your partnership in supporting your child and our school community.
Thank You,

Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books
Congratulations to our Battle of the Books teams who competed on March 28th at a district meet. Our 3rd graders battled hard against 15 other teams. Our 4th and 6th grade teams both took 3rd place and our 5th grade team took 1st place! 6th-8th Grade - Save The Date For Our Spring Dance
Action Required: 2026-2027 Annual Family Check-In!
It’s that time of year again! We are officially opening the Annual Family Check-In for the
upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
Why is this so important?
We want to ensure every student is safe, supported, and reachable. Updating your information in
Infinite Campus is the only way to guarantee we have the most accurate data for:
Emergency Contacts: Who do we call if your child needs you?
Health Information: Keeping our nursing staff up to date on allergies or medications.
Communication: Ensuring you receive school closures, event invites, and grade reports.
"But my information hasn't changed!"
We still need you to complete the check-in! Even if your address and phone number are
exactly the same as last year, the system requires a fresh "digital signature" to confirm your data
is current for the new school year. It only takes a few minutes, but it makes a world of difference
for our staff and your student.
How to Complete Your Check-In:
1. Log In: Visit your [Infinite Campus Parent Portal].
2. Navigate: Look for the "Annual Family Check-In"
3. Review & Submit: Double-check your details, make any necessary edits, and hit submit!
Thank you for helping us start the 2026-2027 year strong!
State Immunizations Annual Parent Letter
Dear families of students attending Colorado kindergarten through 12th grade schools for the 2026-27 school year:
The letter below includes important information and other resources about Colorado’s immunization requirements to attend school. There’s nothing more important than making sure your child stays healthy and learning all year long. Routine vaccination can prevent the spread of diseases like measles, mumps, varicella (chickenpox), whooping cough, and others, so kids can just be kids. The vast majority of Colorado families choose to protect their children through vaccination. Please review this letter.

Monitoring Student's Online Activity at Home

Do you qualify for Free & Reduced Meal Benefits?
ALL families are still asked to fill out an application. Why? The Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program is funded in partnership with federal nutrition programs that rely on income information to support meals for all students. Other state and federal grants are awarded based on free and reduced meal eligibility rates.
Additionally, families that qualify may receive discounted or waived fees for programs inside and outside of the school district.
Instructional Fees
The instructional materials fee is charged to each student annually. This money is utilized for buying textbooks and extracurricular materials for our school, replacing old materials, or replenishing items students use.
Middle Level Exploration Class Fees
These fees are charged to students participating in specific classes and activities. This fee is based on the cost of materials and supplies that have been depleted and need to be replenished.
Middle Level Athletic Fees
The Athletic fee helps to support referees, transportation, equipment and uniforms.

Peakview Academy Student & Family Handbook 2025-2026
Keeping Our Hands and Bodies to Ourselves
At Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students. To help everyone feel comfortable and secure, we want to remind families of our physical interaction expectations, which align with the district’s Code of Conduct.
Students are expected to keep their hands and bodies to themselves at all times—this includes classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, buses, and all school-related activities. Appropriate physical interactions include handshakes, high-fives, and participation in supervised activities like PE, sports, and recess games, always with mutual consent.
Inappropriate interactions, such as roughhousing, hugging, kissing, hand-holding, or touching another person’s belongings or body, will result in reminders and redirection. Repeated or serious violations may lead to additional consequences.
These expectations are highlighted in our PVA Learner & Family Handbook.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that Peakview Academy remains a safe and welcoming space for all learners!
