Welcome Back to School
Let's Get Rolling, 2026 - 2027!
Meet Our Librarian
Meet Mrs. Carrillo!
Hello! My name is Nallely Carrillo, and I am excited to begin my third year as the bilingual librarian at Los Reyes Elementary. I have been in education for 17 years and am passionate about creating a library that is welcoming, engaging, and just the right amount of noisy! I believe the library should be a place where students explore, create, collaborate, and develop a lifelong love of reading in both English and Spanish.
I am especially excited about this school year because we have so many fun learning experiences planned! Students can look forward to author visits, research lessons, creative art projects, hands-on activities, exciting reading challenges, and so much more. I can't wait to learn, read, and grow with our Los Reyes students this year. Here's to another amazing year in our not-so-quiet library!

Book Care Rules
Why Book Care Matters in the Elementary School Library
Teaching book care in the elementary school library is about so much more than keeping your shelves looking nice. It’s about helping your students feel like valued members of the library community. When they understand that books are shared resources, they feel proud to be part of something bigger. A space where everyone can explore stories, learn new things, and stretch their imaginations.
For many of our students, the elementary school library is the only consistent access they have to books. That makes teaching book care essential. Our kiddos need to learn how to treat books with care so they last for the next reader, and the next, and the next. By building these habits early, you help create a culture of respect and responsibility that carries through the school year and beyond.
