Welcome Back, Pack!
Officially, we are off and running for this 2026/2027 school year! Thank you for all you have done to prepare your Timberwolf and family for a successful start. Beginning with last Tuesday's Orientation event, the energy, excitement, and optimism across our campus has been tremendous, and we are grateful to partner with you in supporting every Evergreen student.
At Evergreen, we believe that student success is strongest when schools and families work together. As we begin this year, we are committed to maintaining high expectations, providing meaningful support, and creating a school environment where every student feels valued, challenged, inspired, and connected. We look forward to building that partnership with you throughout the year.
Below, you will find a variety of important updates for the month of September, including key dates, information regarding Curriculum Night on September 17th, school pictures, athletics, and much more. Please also review the section titled Required Back-to-School Forms, as there are two important documents that must be completed and returned to the Evergreen Office.
As we begin a new school year together, we encourage every family to find ways to stay connected with our school community. One of the best ways to do that is through our Evergreen PTA. This outstanding group of Evergreen family members works tirelessly to support students, strengthen our school community, and create additional opportunities for our Timberwolves. Our first PTA meeting is scheduled for September 9th at 6:30 p.m. in our Evergreen Library , and all families are welcome. Joining our Evergreen PTA is simple (please CLICK HERE for access), and memberships cost just $15 for the year. Whether you can volunteer regularly or simply stay informed, your involvement helps strengthen our school and contributes to a positive experience for all students.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this Opening Day packet. Your partnership, support, and trust are essential to our success. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to working together to ensure every student grows, achieves, and thrives.
Best Regards & Go GREEN!

Required Family Forms:
As our school year begins, it is important that families complete the annual Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefit (CNEEB) Application. This form directly supports our school as it informs the process to determine school funding. This funding specifically and directly funds student and family support services. Without these vital funds, our school will be at risk of reduced funding and services. This form will take you roughly five-minutes to complete and submitting it early ensures that your child and family will be able to access these valued student and family support services throughout the school year.
Please click on the above link to access this important form. Please complete and submit this form by October 1st.
The form is simple, confidential, and available to all students, regardless of immigration status. Applying helps your child and supports educational programs and services in our schools:
1. Increased funding to support student education
2. Additional funding for technology and discounts for internet and some utilities
3. Discounts for fees associated with college application process
4. Discounted fees for sports, SAT, ACT & AP tests along with scholarship opportunities
5. Free healthy, nutritious student meals
Important: If you have a student in grades 6-12, an annual consent form is required to qualify for eligibility benefits related to athletics and ASB programs.
Please submit any time your financial situation changes during the year. Take advantage of these benefits today!
Student Housing Questionnaire: If you own/rent your own home/residence, you do not need to complete this form unless there are inadequate facilities (no water, heat, electricity, etc.). As needed, please CLICK HERE to access our Student Housing Questionnaire. Completion of this form will allow us to provide assistance. This form can be returned to the Evergreen office or emailed back to the KIT office: KIToffice@everettsd.org

The Predictive Power of School Attendance
As students enter middle school, regular attendance becomes even more important to both their current success and future opportunities. Research shows that by sixth grade, chronic absenteeism is one of the strongest indicators that a student may be off track to graduate from high school. In fact, an eighth-grade attendance rate of 90% or higher (fewer than 18 absences in a school year) is a stronger predictor of high school graduation than eighth-grade test scores. Likewise, students who attend school at a rate of less than 80% are significantly less likely to graduate from high school on-time, with their peers.
At Evergreen, we take attendance seriously because our Timberwolves can only fully benefit from learning opportunities when they are present, engaged, and connected to their school community. Every day matters, and consistent attendance helps students build strong academic habits, maintain relationships, and achieve at high levels.
We also understand that there are times when students need to be absent due to illness or other valid reasons. When your child is absent, you will receive an automated message notifying you of the absence. This communication provides an opportunity to confirm the absence and share the reason for it so that our records remain accurate. Families may also report or excuse an absence by email or phone using the contact information provided below.

MySTOP Bus App is a Must
All busses serving Evergreen and the Everett Public Schools are monitored through the MySTOP bus transportation app. MySTOP is a user-friendly mobile application designed to provide real-time information related to bus routes and arrival time, allowing families to monitor the progress of their child's bus to/from school.
Families are encouraged to register for the MyStop app for the 2026/27 school year as a helpful tool for everyday needs and, as needed, monitoring any potential delays. For more information on Everett Public School Transportation, please CLICK HERE to access our webpage.
Afternoon Activity Buses & Route Information
As athletics, clubs, and other after school, extra curricular activities begin, our activity bus service will resume for all students who typically ride a bus to/from school and have a designated route/bus. Activity buses run two times each afternoon, at 3:30pm and 4:20pm. To ride, students need to have a designated pass, provided by their coach, advisor, or club sponsor.
Please CLICK HERE to review important, related information from our EPS Transportation Office. This updated information includes stops/drop-off times and locations. Please note that not all stops are serviced. Some students may need to walk a bit further to arrive at home as our activity buses utilize community stops to ensure timeliness and consistency.

Parent Tech Tools
As a proud Everett Public School, Evergreen utilizes a variety of common applications and platforms to serve our students and connect with our families. Our core suite of digital learning platforms, management systems, and creative applications include the below.
Core Learning and Management Systems
- Parent Square: We utilize ParentSquare to connect with our Evergreen families including schoolwide messages, class specific messages, and teacher-direct messages.
- StudentVUE / ParentVUE: Our Learning Management System included several interrelated student and family facing portals used to track student schedules, attendance, and academic progress.
- CANVAS: The primary learning management system (LMS) for course materials, assignments, and grades.
- Clever: A centralized single-sign-on portal for educational apps and digital resources.
What is Den Time?
At Evergreen, we utilize a regular advisory period entitled Den Time to connect with our students beyond their "graded" classes. This block occurs between first and second period, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The intent for these near-daily blocks are "advisory" in nature as we work to ever-improve how we grow and support our students. During Den Time, we structure everything from academic interventions to teaching specific skills that support executive functioning.
Our students will learn more about Den Time this week including a schoolwide assembly on Friday. We will begin our Den Time for the year next week, on Tuesday, September 8th. As we get into the school year, below are a few self-organization topics we will cover during our forthcoming Den Time advisory blocks.
September:
- Development of our Den-specific charters
- How to organize for six period of classwork/homework
- How to login and use StudentVUE and check grades/assignments
- How to continually organize your binder and backpack
- How to access and use your student Outlook email account
October:
- How to check grades and make a plan for improvement
- How to prioritize assignments and other to-dos
- How to connect with teachers and discuss make-ups and re-dos
