Message from Ms. Misner
Happy New Year! I hope that you all had a wonderful break with family and friends.
As we return to school after a two week break, please take a minute to talk to your child about exhibiting positive school behavior. Your child can receive SOAR slips at school for being: Safe, Organized, Attentive and Respectful. Students can use these slips for various incentives. We have been reviewing our SOAR expectations this week and will continue to reinforce them throughout the year.
KPS is offering a Family Engagement event focused on Parenting in the Digital World, I have included the flier below with all the details. As a parent myself, I am excited about this opportunity! Hope to see some of you there, a meal and giveaways will be provided.
Thank you for all you do to partner with the us to ensure your child is safe and successful at school! As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Take good care,
Ms. Misner
Student Growth Data
We will be sending home a copy of the parent report of student growth on the FastBridge reading and math assessments towards the end of the month. Please keep an eye out for these as we will be sending them home with students.
Donations Needed!
As cold and flu season continues, we have been going through our Kleenex and Disinfectant Wipes supply pretty quickly.
If you are able, we could use donations of boxes of Kleenex and Disinfectant Wipes.
Please send any donations to the Main Office.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
December SOAR Flight
Students had so much fun decorating (and eating) Gingerbread cookies during our December SOAR Flight. Those who saved up their SOAR slips and attended also enjoyed some Hot Chocolate. Check out some of the pictures below!
Our next SOAR Flight is scheduled for February 13th. We will be playing Valentine's BINGO and enjoying a special treat!

Cold Weather has Arrived
As the temperatures continue to drop, please make sure students are properly dressed to be outside (Coats, Hats, Gloves, Snow pants).
We believe outdoor play is crucial to all students. We will be outside as much as possible. We will also continue to line up outdoors during arrival.
Please plan on your student going out for recess as long as the real feel temperature is above 0 degrees.
Loaves and Fishes
Don't forget that we have a Food Pantry on site at Spring Valley through Loves and Fishes.
To schedule an appointment, please reach out to Nate Lake (CIS).
