Hello Smallville,

Last Saturday, I was standing on the sideline cheering on our soccer team in frigid weather and howling wind. This week, I was able to enjoy the warm weather and sun while outside in our green spaces. This Texas weather can be comical at times, but I will always welcome the nice breeze and opportunities to work outside.

Our Valentine's dance was a huge success and we were able to raise a substantial amount of funds for our end of the year 8th grade activities! I can’t believe we are already heading into the final week of February. Before you know it, we will be actively celebrating all of our accomplishments this year in May. With the time moving so fast, it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, “Life gives you plenty of time to do whatever you want to do if you stay in the present moment.” The campus has been busy with pre UIL events, sporting events, field trips, and class projects and through all of these activities I see the focus and commitment our Cougars give to Small on a daily basis.

They accomplish so many milestones with the time they are given because they stay present and enjoy the moments they have with their classmates and teachers. I continue to encourage you, our Cougars, and staff to indulge in self-care, stay focused on the positive, and of course relish in all of the good that is around us. Have a great weekend filled with relaxation and beautiful weather!

Stay Present Cougars,

Bedford
