A message from Mr. Cornwall

Hello Art City Parents/Guardians and Students,

We have had an amazing start to the year. We love having our eagles back in school with us. This past week has been full of learning the routines, rules and procedures in the classrooms as well as in different areas of the school. This newsletter has new information and some repeated information as well. Please see the quick link section-it contains many important links and will remain on all future newsletters for quick access.

Hearing Screenings

Nebo School District offers free hearing screenings for all kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students each year. This year, those screenings at Art City will be held on Thursday, August 27th. It takes about 3-5 minutes. Students who are absent that day will be screened within a week or two.

If for any reason your child does not pass this screening, he/she will be rescreened two weeks later. This is done because in many cases, on the day of the first screening, the child had fluid in the ears, congestion, excessive ear wax, etc. Many children who failed the initial screening go on to pass the second screening.

If, however, your child does not pass the second screening, we will let you know. If this is the case, it is recommended that your child receive a full evaluation, which is offered free of charge through the district.

Donations

*Please complete your donations to the school. You can do this online following the directions below. This donations money is given to teachers and school staff to be able to purchase consumable materials for instructional needs and other materials for class/grade parties and activities as well as field trips. We suggest $35 dollars. Thanks for your continued support.
