October is upon us, and Prairie Creek has a busy month ahead! 🍎

Please take note of a few important items: A quick heads-up that there is no school tomorrow, Monday, September 29th. Sign-ups for our vital Parent-Teacher Conferences have been sent out on Dojo. We can't stress enough how important it is to sign up, as Dojo is our primary communication tool, where teachers share most school information and daily classroom pictures!

Reminder: Butler County Conservation District Poster

3rd - 5th graders that are participating in the Butler County Conservation District poster contest that are creating their posters at home need to bring them to Mrs. Schwartzbeck by Tuesday, Sept. 30. The last time to work on the posters at school is Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 4-5 p.m.

📸 Calling All Public Service Professionals!

We are creating a special board to highlight careers in public service. If you work in law enforcement, teaching/education, corrections, government, or public administration, please email seibels@usd385.org a picture of yourself in uniform or at your workplace this week! We'd love to showcase these photos as we talk to our students about the importance of jobs in public service.

Later in the month, we'll be hosting our Fall Parties—more details on that will be coming soon. Room Moms, the Class Chat feature in Dojo is the fastest way to communicate with all parents. Also, a big reminder for 3rd Grade: your field trip is this week on October 1st!

💛🖤Capturing Kids Hearts💛🖤 💛🖤Capturing Kids Hearts💛🖤

Our Capturing Kids’ Hearts word of the month for October is Integrity. Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. It’s about being honest, dependable, and making choices that reflect strong character. Each month, we also explore different career fields, and this month we are focusing on careers in Public Service. Capturing Kids’ Hearts is woven into our school day through greetings, social contracts, and daily launches, helping students build strong character alongside their academics.

📚✨ The Fall Book Fair is just 2 weeks away! ✨📚
I’m so excited and can’t wait for another great fair!

Volunteer Opportunity:
If you’d like to help with the Book Fair, please click the link below to sign up for a time slot (or two!). We’d love to have you join us!
👉 Volunteer Sign-Up

Set Up Your Child’s eWallet:
Families can begin setting up eWallets now, and they’ll be available through the last day of the fair. I highly recommend this option—especially for younger students—as it saves them from having to carry cash. Once you create the eWallet, you can either print it yourself or I’ll make sure a copy is ready before your child shops.
👉 Set Up an eWallet Here

Thank you for your support in making the Book Fair such a fun and memorable event for our students!

Happy Reading!

Arrival and Dismissal

School Hours: 8:45-3:45 (All Day Kindergarten – Fifth Grade)

Doors Open at 8:35. Dismissal begins at 3:45.

8:35 - 11:50 (A.M. Pre-K and Early Childhood)

12:30 - 3:45 (P.M. Pre-K and Early Childhood)

Arrival - The doors will remain locked until our first bell at 8:35 A.M. If you are in the Car Rider Line, children may NOT exit your vehicle, until the doors open. If you need to walk your child to class, or visit the office, you must enter the North Side of the building, and check-in through the Office. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. This is a District Wide Mandate, and it will be followed, as it ensures the safety of our staff and our students.

Late Arrivals after 8:45 A.M. - The school day starts at 8:45 A.M. Promptly at 8:45 A.M. Bell, the East and West Exterior Doors will be locked. If your child arrives late, please drop your child off at the front of the building which faces the YMCA. Students will be checked in, lunch order taken, and students will be given a tardy slip to enter their classroom.

Dismissal - All Prairie Creek KG - 5th Grade families will be given a Car Rider Number. This number MUST be displayed in order for your child to be released to you in the Car Rider Line. Please have your Card Rider Sign clear and visible in your windshield. If there is no Car Rider Sign, the parent/guardian will be asked to go to the Office to pick up their student(s). This is for the safety and well-being of our staff and students, and there will be no exceptions. While in the Car Rider Line, it is important that you pull up as far as possible to allow us to dismiss students smoothly and quickly. Parents are NOT allowed to park and walk up to get their students. This creates an unsafe situation and will not be allowed. Please watch your speed and attention while in the Car Rider area, as there are many students exiting their cars and/or walking home.

Car Rider Pickup and Dropoff for PreK & Early Childhood is on the East Side of the Building, next to the YMCA Turf Fields. Parents will enter from YMCA Drive.

Car Rider Pickup and Dropoff for Kindergarten - 5th Grade is on the West Side of the Building. The line will form on the road in front of the Farha Center. Parents should NOT try to drive south on Yorktown, and attempt to make a left hand turn into the Parking Lot!
