Enrollment Balancing Survey Reopened Enrollment Balancing Survey Reopened

Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools is reviewing enrollment patterns and building capacities across our schools. Given the details of the enrollment report presented at our February Board of Education meeting, it is important for the District to begin evaluating ways to provide relief to buildings that are at or near capacity and develop a plan that provides better utilization of our spaces.

As we work through this process, we want to hear from you. Please weigh in with what you think the priorities should be while working on balancing enrollment between our buildings.

Please note that this is your opportunity to have your voice heard in this process. The deadline to complete the survey is April 27, 2026.

As plans are developed, families at impacted schools will receive additional information. Any changes made would not take effect until the 2027-28 school year.

Complete the Survey!

Special Education Survey Available Special Education Survey Available

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) would like to invite you to participate in a short, 25 question survey about your involvement in your student’s education.

Research suggests that parental involvement is a key predictor of positive educational outcomes. You may be eligible to participate if your child has an IEP and receives special education services. The purpose of collecting this information is to improve services for students with disabilities across Ohio.

If you are eligible to participate and you enroll in the study, you will be entered in a drawing for several $50 Amazon gift cards. Please click on this link to find out more about the survey and if you are eligible.

April Testing Logistics April Testing Logistics

Beginning this week, our students will be participating in the annual administration of End-of-Course (EOC) Exams -n more commonly known as "state testing." Participation in taking the EOC Exams is required for graduation by the State of Ohio; moreover, a high enough score on certain exams may also allow students to earn Graduation Seals.

Assessment Calendar:
The assessment calendar for April is linked below. Please take a moment to review it and familiarize yourself with the updates. We will have adjusted schedules on 4/13, 4/14, 4/15, 4/20, 4/21, 4/22, 4/23, 4/28 and 4/29. Details for schedules on those days can be found in the link below.

-Assessment Calendar Link

Transportation: If your student is not taking an EOC exam, they do not need to report to school until the "Begin Time" of their first class period following lunch. Please note that transportation will run on its normal schedule on testing days. Students who use school transportation but are not testing should report to North Commons during the testing period where the commons will be structured similarly to a study hall.

Lunch: Lunch will be provided after each scheduled testing session. This is available to both students who are testing and those who are not. Students who complete testing will go directly to lunch when the testing period is over. Students arriving at school specifically for lunch should report to their preferred commons area by the start of the lunch period.

Arrival Time: If a student is not using district transportation at its regular time and does not plan to eat lunch in the building, they must arrive at school and be in their assigned location by the start of the first block following lunch.

Testing Locations: Students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) scheduled for testing should have received an email notification this week. Testing locations will be posted in each student's cohort Google Classroom as the testing date approaches.

Chromebooks: Please note that students must use a district-issued device for testing. Be sure your Chromebook is fully charged prior to your testing day.

Please remember to try your best on your test(s) and Go Lions! If you have any questions, please contact our main office at 614-478-5500, or assistant principal Zach Wiard at wiardz@gjps.org.
