Mr. Macken's Message
Centerville Families,
We have had some exciting guests visit Centerville and even more fun coming up next week.
Timberwolves Visit – Read to Achieve Kickoff
Our third-grade students had an unforgettable morning with the Minnesota Timberwolves and their mascot, Crunch. A Timberwolves representative read Crunch’s favorite book, The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!, while Crunch brought the story to life as students acted out the parts of the pigs.
A big thank-you to the Timberwolves organization for donating a book and a prize bag to each third grader and helping launch our students’ participation in the Read to Achieve challenge.
Minnesota Wild Faceoff for Fitness Assembly – Thursday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m.
The Minnesota Wild are coming to Centerville for a special Faceoff for Fitness assembly focused on staying healthy and active. Students will meet a Wild player, a women’s professional hockey player, and the always-popular Nordy.
To celebrate our students’ amazing fundraising efforts, the assembly will end with a splash when Mr. Macken gets slimed. Each student will also receive a pack of Wild hockey cards, and our school will receive a set of street hockey equipment to keep the fun going.
STEM Night – Monday, November 3 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Bring the whole family for an evening of hands-on STEM fun. Explore interactive science, technology, engineering, and math activities, meet other Centerville families, and enjoy this free community event.
There will be door prizes, learning, and plenty of excitement for all ages. Click the below video for more information.

These posters will be proudly displayed throughout our school as part of our Veterans Day celebration to show gratitude and respect for their service and sacrifice.
If you or a family member has served, we invite you to share a photo and a few details (name, branch of service, years served) by completing the following form. Centerville Elementary will create a personalized poster for each veteran to display leading up to Veterans Day.
