Westbrook Park Elementary School
Wednesday Folder
Dear Westbrook Park Elementary School Families:
Thank you to all of our families who joined us for Back to School Night. It was wonderful to see so many of you in our building and to have the opportunity to connect with you about the year ahead. A special thank you to our teachers for welcoming families into their classrooms and sharing the learning they have planned for our students this year.
Our students are continuing to work through MAP assessments as we gather important information about their learning and growth. This information will help us identify strengths, areas for growth, and ways we can best support each student.
On Monday, September 14th, we held our first fire drill of the school year, and our students did an excellent job! They followed directions, moved safely and efficiently, and demonstrated the routines we have been practicing. We are very proud of them.
Picture Day: Friday, September 25
Picture Day will take place on September 25.
Please see our 2026-2027 Bullying Policy Letter attached below.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Cameron Bush
Attendance Awareness Month Message
September is Attendance Awareness Month!
Every school day matters. Regular attendance helps students stay connected to their teachers, classmates, and learning, while also building the habits they need for success in school and beyond. Establishing consistent morning and evening routines, planning ahead for appointments, and communicating with your child’s school when challenges arise can make a meaningful difference in student attendance.
Together, we can help every student be present, engaged, and ready to learn—because every day counts!
Reminders for the start of the 2026-2027 School Year
Home Access Center (HAC)
Homeroom and teacher assignments will be available through the Home Access Center (HAC) beginning August 27th. HAC is an important resource where families can view schedules, grades, attendance, and update contact information, including emergency contacts and email addresses. Please review and update your information before the start of school to ensure you receive all school and district communications. The District will email HAC login credentials on the day it opens. If you experience difficulties accessing your account, please email parentportal@upperdarbysd.org. Families who have forgotten their password will need to reset it using the password reset feature.
HAC Guide: HAC Parent Handbook
Transportation
Transportation letters for eligible students will be emailed through ParentLink. Families may also review the District's Safe Routes to School information, including suggested walking routes and crossing guard locations.
Attendance
When your child is absent, please send either a completed Westbrook Park absence note (Form B-901) or an email to wpes-attendance@upperdarbysd.org. Include your child's name, homeroom, date of absence, reason for the absence, and a parent/guardian signature. Absences without documentation within three school days will be marked as unexcused.
