SILVER FOX NEWS
November 21, 2025
Wishing our students, families, staff, and community a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday!
Our school will be closed Nov. 24 - 28. The District Office will be closed Nov. 27 and 28.
At TOMS, we are so thankful for all of our amazing staff!
In the spirit of the upcoming holiday, more than half of us dressed up as our favorite parts of a Thanksgiving feast! Even Ares had a special shirt!
Thanks to everyone’s enthusiasm, we were also able to raise funds that will go toward much-needed relief efforts for hurricane victims in Jamaica.
A special thank-you to Millie McKenith and Jennifer Levinsky for coordinating this fun event, creating the shirts and making it a reality for our TOMS Team. We appreciate you!
It was a special surprise Friday morning for Asst. Principal Danielle Hamilton!
Mrs. Jenn Levinski and Mrs. Millie McKenith presented her with a check for $650.00! These were the proceeds from all of the staff Thanksgiving Feast shirts lovingly made by Jenn and Millie.
Proceeds from the sales of the shirts are going toward Hurricane Melissa relief efforts for Mrs. Hamilton’s family in Jamaica. We are thankful for these ladies and for our staff supporting this effort!
A huge thank-you to the TOMS PTO for the beautiful cake and to Mrs. Amy Lawrence-Lovely
rom The Lovely Law Firm for the generous BoHo Boards donation to help us celebrate
our Excellent report card today!
The treats were delicious, and our staff really enjoyed them. We’re so grateful for the support and partnership of our school community—it made this celebration even more special!
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Mrs. Sara Boone, our TOMS Staff member of the Week! She was nominated by Mrs. Laura Poulos.
Mrs. Boone teaches 8th Grade math and Geometry Honors at Ten Oaks. She has been a teacher here for 6 years.
Her favorite memory of middle school was... While I always made good grades in school, middle school was a difficult time. My family moved halfway through fifth grade and again at the end of 6th grade, but 8th grade was undoubtedly my favorite year. I had amazing teachers, and I loved the mythology unit we did in English and being in accelerated Math. I also loved our end-of-the-year 8th grade dance.
My advice to my Middle School self would be... not to listen to what other people say about you. You know best for you, so never doubt yourself and never give up on your dreams.
Hot off the presses — Ten Oaks Middle School had a clean sweep at the Conway Region Mock Trial competition this weekend! TOMS Mock Trial Team placed FIRST in the Conway Regional competition!
These students have worked incredibly hard for the past two months to prepare for this event. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and ownership of their roles in their portrayal of ABP Developers, Inc. v. Maldonado Construction, LLC are the keys to their success. Our amazing team and coaches are now headed to the state competition in Columbia on December 5th!

Success-Nothing Less!!!
Every year, one of TOMS amazing teachers thoughtfully and carefully writes something she’s thankful for about each and every one of her students. Today she shared this year’s list, and it’s such a beautiful reminder of why she is so loved — we can clearly see the heart she pours into her classroom.
We are so thankful for you, Gabrielle Evans — thank you for making a difference in the lives of all your students!
Our TOMS Prize Patrol was thrilled to visit the 6th-grade hallway and crown this year’s King and Queen of the Twisted Turkey Fundraiser!
It was a fierce competition, and we absolutely loved the lively 6th-grade energy as we crowned Mr. DeBell and Ms. Bright as this year’s winners!
Happy Thanksgiving, and a huge thank-you to all the students who participated!
Big Thursday at Ten Oaks Middle!
Our cafeteria staff kicked it into high gear with USC Gamecocks vs. Clemson Tiger décor! Students and staff picked a side and wore their colors proudly to support their teams.
Every student who fueled up on Thursday by eating in the cafeteria was entered into a drawing! Congratulations to TOMS student Lucas Norris, who won today’s drawing! He will now be entered into a district-wide Horry County drawing for a chance to move on to the state prize!
A huge thanks to Cafeteria Manager Savannah Theriault and her amazing team for making today a true Big Thursday!

Thank you for helping us spread generosity this season. You are awesome!
Ten Oaks Middle School Community — We Need Your Help!
As many of you know, Mrs. Danielle Hamilton is from Jamaica, and most of her family still lives there. Many have asked how to support the ongoing relief efforts, and to say “help is needed” is truly an understatement.
While Mrs. Hamilton’s family is safe, many of their loved ones and community members remain without power, water, and food. The initial wave of assistance will focus on providing essential necessities to those most affected. Every contribution makes a difference.
Donations will directly support families in Jamaica and their extended communities with:
Food and water
Stabilized shelter (zinc, wood, nails, window replacements, etc.)
Thank you, Silver Fox Family, for always showing kindness, compassion, and love that extend far beyond our school walls.

Dear TOMS Parents/Guardians,
In an effort to minimize classroom disruptions and maintain a focused learning environment, we are implementing a few new procedures effective immediately:
Lunch Drop-Offs
If a student’s lunch is dropped off at the front office, it will be placed on a designated cart near the security desk.
Students will not be called out of class to pick up their lunch.
Please remind your child to check the cart if they realize they do not have their lunch.
Other Item Drop-Offs
If other items (e.g., forgotten computers, books, clothing, etc.) are delivered for a student, an email will be sent to the teacher of the class the student is currently attending.
Teachers will check their email regularly throughout the day so students can receive their items in a timely manner.
Changes in Dismissal
Any changes to your child’s transportation home should be communicated prior to your student arriving at school.
Dismissal changes cannot be made over the phone after 2:00 PM to allow sufficient time to notify both the teacher and student.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
