Purple House 5 2023-2024

December 18, 2025
Dear Purple Families,
Wishing your family a wonderful Christmas holiday and a joyful, restful time making sweet memories with friends and loved ones. May your days be filled with peace, laughter, and a little extra sparkle!
As a special holiday gift, learners were sent home with a small hands-on activity kit to spark curiosity and creativity! Each kit includes simple instruction ideas, paper, tiny bulbs, and a battery. Please help us remind learners that safety comes first. The bulbs and battery are small, so adult supervision is recommended when exploring and creating. We hope this little gift brings joyful learning and fun conversations at home!
Warmly,
Ms. May Voltz

Spirit Rally Fun!
What a fun spirit rally! Learners had a blast cheering on the reindeer races, and a surprise visit from RJ, our beloved mascot, was a fabulous way to kick off an afternoon of joyful Winter House parties. Smiles, laughter, and school spirit filled the air, what a wonderful way to celebrate together! ๐โ๏ธ
Elf Games
Elf Math Games brought learning to life through basketball, hockey, bowling, and stacking cubes, all while deepening our understanding of data collection! Learners explored the entire data journey: identifying components of data collection, creating data-collection tables, and representing their findings using different types of graphs. When students are active participants, from gathering the data to analyzing and graphing it, the learning truly sticks. These hands-on graphing experiences are the ones theyโll remember! ๐๐

Sneaking in some Art and Beauty of Math ~ Desmos Style
We explored a bit of mathematical art after a quick introductory lesson using Desmos, an online graphing calculator. I was completely impressed by how quickly learners picked up this new skill and eagerly continued their work at home! I canโt wait to see what they will plan and create in January.
Twas the Night Before Christmas....
We have been reading, studying, and writing poems in many different styles. Today, we celebrated our learning by sharing our favorite poems with our classmates. It was a wonderful opportunity to listen, appreciate one anotherโs work, and celebrate the courage it takes to share your voice. I am so proud of our poets! ๐๐โ๏ธ

A Note from our GTI Specialist
Dear Parents,
The district encountered technical issues when trying to send Aptitude Scores this week. This has caused a delay and the new estimated date for these scores will be the week that we return in January. I apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,
