April 2026
LISD Families,
As we move into the final weeks of the school year, there is a great deal happening across our district.
I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible work of our staff. Throughout the spring, we celebrate employees across the district for the difference they make in the lives of students each day. You’ll see many of these recognitions shared on our social media channels, and I encourage you to follow along as we celebrate our team.
In addition, our “Recognize Someone” submissions remain open through May 1. If there is a staff member who has made a positive impact on your family, we would love to hear from you.
This time of year also brings state assessments. While these tests are one measure of student progress, we will continue to advocate for a broader approach to accountability, one that reflects the many ways our students learn, grow and succeed.
As we close out the year, your partnership remains as important as ever. Consistent attendance matters, especially in these final weeks, and helps ensure students finish strong.
Looking ahead to summer, you will see continued progress on bond projects across our community. While there will be a great deal of construction taking place, it is important to note that not all projects can be completed within a single summer. I’ve shared a lengthy progress update on projects in progress, and we are grateful to our voters for making this work possible.
Thank you for your continued support as we finish the school year strong and continue looking ahead.
Lori Rapp, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
