MISSION, VISION, AND VALUES

Our Mission: "Empower every learner to thrive."

Our Vision: "Together, our strong relationships build inclusive, collaborative, and innovative environments that create agency and inspire a passion for learning, excellence, and discovery."

Our Values: Excellence, Innovation, Inclusion and Leadership.

Building Strong Readers Together Building Strong Readers Together

This year, Silver Ranch is making a school-wide commitment to strengthening reading fluency. Our goal is to support every student through daily evidence-based fluency practice, regular progress monitoring, and strong partnerships between school and home.

What is reading fluency?

Fluency is the ability to read connected text with accuracy, automaticity, appropriate pacing, and expression. When reading becomes more fluent, students can spend less energy figuring out the words and more energy understanding and enjoying what they read!

North Dakota legislation mandates that schools do not allow the use of personal electronic communication devices during the school day, such as smartwatches and cell phones. You may click the button below to see Bismarck Public Schools policy.

All devices must be turned off, stored away, and remain inaccessible at all times throughout the school day.

We appreciate your partnership in supporting this policy, as it is designed to help all students remain focused, engaged, and successful in their learning.

Thank you for working with us to create a positive and distraction-free environment for all students!

The Bismarck Public Schools Foundation is proud to partner with Capital Real Estate Partners for the Glow & Go Safety Vest Program, a new program designed to help elementary students stay visible while walking or biking to and from school.

Thanks to the generous support of Jeff White and Capital Real Estate Partners, Bravera Bank, and The Title Team, more than 1,200 safety vests have been provided for BPS elementary students.

With early mornings, changing weather, and darker winter months ahead, the bright safety vests provide an added layer of visibility for students as they make their way to and from school.

Vests are being distributed through BPS elementary schools to students who are currently identified as walkers or bikers. Families whose student is not currently listed as a walker or biker but would like to receive a vest are encouraged to contact their school secretary.

The Glow & Go program is a great example of what can happen when local businesses and our schools work together to support students in simple, meaningful ways.

The BPS Foundation is grateful to Capital Real Estate Partners, Bravera Bank, and The Title Team for making this program possible and helping our students Glow & Go!

Please stop by the school office if you would like a Glow & Go Safety Vest for your child!

2026 BPS Bond Referendum: What It Means for Silver Ranch Elementary School 2026 BPS Bond Referendum: What It Means for Silver Ranch Elementary School

On November 3, 2026, Bismarck voters will consider a $116.5 million bond referendum to address significant facility needs across Bismarck Public Schools.

The revised proposal is approximately $10.5 million less than the measure considered in June. It focuses on four priorities across the district:

  • Keep Students Safe
  • Create Better Learning Spaces
  • Expand Student Opportunities
  • Preserve Our Investment

The projects included in the proposal were identified through BPS's multi-year facilities-planning process, which included professional building assessments, enrollment and demographic analysis, community feedback, and public discussion.

What This Means for Silver Ranch

Silver Ranch Elementary School opened in 2022. As one of Bismarck’s newest educational facilities, it doesn’t have any needs to be addressed in the bond. That said, Silver Ranch students will experience direct benefits from the bond, both when they move to Simle Middle School and as a result of other planned projects:

  • Simle Middle School Improvements
    • Cafeteria expansion, new ventilation system for improved air filtration, generator replacement, boiler replacement, partial roof replacement, and more.
  • Additional Benefits
    • The bond will fund the creation of a centralized kitchen, which will provide improved meals with more local ingredients to all students.
    • Additional spaces for community use will be added throughout the district.
    • Older schools throughout the district will receive meaningful updates to accessibility, security, and aging building systems.

BPS currently maintains 32 buildings and more than 3 million square feet of facility space, with an average school age of approximately 47 years. The district invests about $5 million annually in facility maintenance, but many major projects cannot be completed through existing funding without significantly extending the timeline.

The November bond measure requires 60% voter approval to pass. Families can learn more about the complete proposal, individual school projects, tax implications, and the long-range facilities plan at: http://www.bismarckschools.org/2026bond
