3rd Quarter Grades Are Posted
Spring midterm (3rd-quarter) grades have posted to transcripts and are available to view in Aeries. For any questions, the first point of contact is the teacher of each course. If you have any difficulty viewing transcripts, please give us a call.
Volunteers Needed! AP Exam Proctoring in May
MVHS needs your support in proctoring AP exams to provide this opportunity for the students. Per College Board, parents/guardians may not proctor an exam their student is taking / cannot be in the same room. Proctors are responsible for maintaining exam integrity by monitoring the room for cheating, reading scripted directions that pace the students through the timed test, managing and documenting the time, and In some cases, collecting, counting, and sorting the exams. I promise it is not a difficult task.
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill in your information on the attached spreadsheet. Column G will tell you how many proctors are needed, and you will fill in your name and information in columns H, I, and J. Please make sure you include your email and phone number. I will use your email to send additional information and the phone number will only be used if I need to contact you while proctoring the exam. It is imperative that you include your email.
If you cannot donate your time, may we please ask for donated snacks for students to be distributed during the 10-minute break students have during testing?
Students can bring a clear water bottle, but snacks must be provided. I've attached some snack ideas in the attached document. Food can be dropped off at the office and labeled AP testing (GF options are appreciated).

CAASPP Testing Continues Next Week
Following our Spring Break, MVHS juniors will begin CAASPP Testing for English Language Arts, Math, and Science. These assessments are crucial for helping the school determine how students are progressing toward essential student outcomes for literacy, communication, math, and general science knowledge.
Students who score proficiently on these assessments automatically qualify for entry into credit-bearing college-level courses in these subject areas vs. having to take remedial classes in college.
Testing Schedule:
- English: April 7-8
- Math: April 14-15
- Science: April 21
Reverse Bell Schedule on April 15th
On April 15th, MVHS will operate on a reverse bell schedule, meaning the day will start with period 4, then move backward to period 1 to end the school day. The purpose of running reverse bell schedules is to protect the instructional minutes for 11th-grade students who will be conducting state testing.
For most students, their day-to-day experience at school will remain unchanged. However, for seniors with a free 1st-period or free 4th-period, arrival and departure times will be different compared to their normal routine. Administration has alerted students with free periods about the upcoming reverse bell schedules so that impacted students can make adjustments to work schedules, internship obligations, etc.
Anonymous Tip Reporting: If You See Something, Say Something
MVHS, along with all other Vista Unified schools have an anonymous tip line (see the button below) where all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, community members) can report dangerous behaviors on, around, or related to our campus. Tips reported are completely anonymous (unless the user shares his/her name), and VUSD and MVHS administrators are alerted immediately. In order to keep our school community safe, we ask all stakeholders that if they see something, say something, and the tip line is just one of many ways to do that.
How are You Doing?
MVHS Students, Families & Staff:

Concurrent Enrollment / COLLEGE CREDITS
High school students can take off-campus courses for advancing to a higher level course in their next school year, or complete a non-sequenced level course and create schedule space for future options. Concurrent enrollment lets you earn college credit for college courses completed while you're still in high school – and those courses also could count toward your high school diploma.
