EPISD STUDENT SURVEY
EPISD Family Survey
Dear Families,
Our district values your feedback!
This January 20, we will be asking you to take a brief survey to tell us about your experience with EPISD. To ensure we continue to provide high-quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback.
The survey will begin on January 20 and close on February 13. The link to take your anonymous survey is: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/episd/family/surveys
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at strategyevaluation@episd.org.
FITNESS FRIDAYS
Common Sense School Recognition
Kohlberg has just been approved as a Common Sense School, an honor that recognizes our efforts in teaching digital citizenship to young people and engaging the entire school community in this important discussion. The recognition acknowledges our school's commitment to helping students build skills that are essential for their well-being today—and for the opportunities they'll have tomorrow.
This honor is provided by Common Sense Education, part of a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology.
We are one of the more than 80,000 schools across the country that use Common Sense Education's groundbreaking education resources. As a result, our students are better equipped to navigate the digital world and use devices for learning. We hope you will encourage other schools in our district to take advantage of them. If 75% of schools in the district become Common Sense Schools, we can earn recognition as a Common Sense District.
A huge thank you goes out to our librarian, Mrs. Cheryl Ford for her efforts to obtain this campus recognition.

LOST AND FOUND
Please make sure your child's coats, jackets, water bottles, and lunch boxes are labeled with their name. Our lost and found becomes overwhelmed with unlabeled and unclaimed items. All items that remain unclaimed will be donated at the end of each month.
STUDENT DROP OFF ZONE REMINDER
Reminder to all parents: please do not leave your vehicle unattended in the drop-off zones, as this disrupts the flow of traffic. If you are walking your child to the front door in the morning or waiting for your child after school, please park in the parking lot and escort your child to and from the entrance. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.
Attendance
Coyotes, attendance matters! Every day in school counts toward your child’s success. Let’s keep aiming high by showing up daily and on time. Right now, our campus attendance rate is 95.14%. Congratulations to 3rd grade for leading the way with the highest attendance! 🐾👏
CHANGES TO CELL PHONE USE UNDER NEW STATE LAW
Beginning August 4, 2025, students will not be permitted to use cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, AI glasses, or other digital communication devices on campus during school hours, from the first bell to the last. While students may bring their phones and digital devices to school, all devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks or designated areas within classrooms.
Reminders for dress code policy
Kohlberg Coyotes are not required to wear a uniform. However, here are a few reminders from our dress code policy:
1. shorts, skirts, and dresses must be appropriate length
2. no flip flops, slides, or crocs allowed
3. no caps, hats, or hoods may be worn inside the building
A complete listing of Kohlberg's dress code policy can be found in the student code of conduct found on our website.
