Hello FME Families – Happy Summer!

I hope you’re all enjoying a fun, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break! While I certainly don’t want to rush these sweet summer days, I can’t help but feel excited about the upcoming 2025–2026 school year. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve as principal of Frances Meeks Elementary, and I’m beyond grateful to be part of such a supportive and caring school community.

As we begin to look ahead, I wanted to share a few important updates to help you prepare for the new school year. I hope you find this information helpful as we count down to another fantastic year at FME!

First Day of School First Day of School

The first day of school is always one of the most exciting times of the year at Frances Meeks Elementary. After a summer of planning, preparing, and recharging, our team will be ready to welcome back our Wildcats with open arms and big smiles. It's a day we all look forward to, and we do everything we can to make sure it's a special one for every student.

To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all:

Students should arrive on the first day using their regular mode of transportation.

Whether your child rides the bus, or is a car rider, we ask that families follow their usual routine starting on Day 1. This helps us maintain safety and consistency for all students. Our staff will be stationed throughout the building, ready to greet students and guide them to their classrooms.

Our Open House is a great opportunity to walk the building with your child, meet their teacher, and help them get familiar with their classroom route. This visit can go a long way in helping your child feel confident and ready on the first day.

For our youngest Wildcats, Pre-K and Kindergarten Camp will take place on Monday, August 4th. During this time, we’ll help our littlest learners practice drop-off procedures and classroom routines, giving them a positive and comfortable start to their FME journey.

We can’t wait to kick off another amazing school year on Wednesday, August 6th. The excitement, energy, and smiles that fill our halls on that day set the tone for the incredible learning and growth ahead.
