Dear Raider Nation,

With two more half days to go, we are just about at the end of the 2024-2025 school year! This is the last newsletter of the year and the last formal correspondence you'll receive from Atholton until around the end of July/beginning of August as we start gearing up for the 2025-2026 school year. It's been a great year and we are already making plans on making next year even better. We hope that everyone has a relaxing but productive summer. Be safe and we'll see you in August for back to school events on August 21st!

The majority of staff are off for the summer and those who do work in the summer have irregular work schedules based on vacations, summer school assignments, etc. The best way to reach an administrator or counselor over the summer is through email or by calling the school. Talk to you then!

To continue meeting the growing need to feed hungry children and families in Howard County and fill the nutritional gap over the summer months, the Howard County Public School System announces its free summer meal program, which will run weekdays June 23-Aug. 1, 2025. Meals will be served only on days schools are open and there will be no meal service Friday, July 4. Atholton is one of the sites distributing free meals. Please see the flier below for more info.

The front vestibule is undergoing a significant construction project this summer and there may be periods of time where traffic into/around the building is rerouted. Please be mindful of construction barriers and other safety guardrails in place after June 18th.

We sent off our seniors last week in grand fashion at Merriweather. Our student speakers and performers did an amazing job and it was a wonderful celebration of the Class of 2025 (even if Kermit the Frog couldn't make it). Check out this fantastic photo gallery from the ceremony.

Senior pictures with Legacy Studios can be scheduled now!

Atholton HS senior portrait scheduling page is now active and open for seniors to select their Spring and Summer appointment dates and times. The link for seniors to schedule their appointments is below. Once these dates fill up, we’ll share the Fall dates.

Just a few tips about scheduling:

• This link will be the same for all senior portrait dates. Seniors looking to schedule an appointment for a later date can do so through this same link.
