CIS Weekly Updates
2024-2025: #1 August 26 - 30, 2024
Edition #5: September 21-25, 2026
Principal's Message:
Please be aware that our school will conduct a planned evacuation safety drill this Monday afternoon at 1:00 PM in cooperation with the Wadsworth Police Department. These routine practice drills allow our students and staff to familiarize themselves with emergency procedures and ensure a swift, coordinated response alongside local law enforcement. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community safe.
Time is almost up for the WIS Read-A-Thon! Tomorrow, September 21st, is the final day to log your reading minutes and submit donations. To celebrate our hard work, Monday is also Super Reader Day, and students are encouraged to dress like a superhero or wear a superhero t-shirt! With 95% of proceeds directly funding our WIS PTO, every minute logged and dollar contributed makes a huge impact for our school. Thank you so much for your generous support and encouragement of our student readers—let's get those final minutes and donations in by tomorrow to finish strong!
Please join us in modeling safe behavior for our students by always using marked crosswalks when crossing Grizzly Way, School Drive, or Broad Street during drop-off and pick-up. We are asking our students to use these crosswalks every day, and seeing adults set the standard helps reinforce these essential safety habits. Thank you for helping keep our Wadsworth Intermediate community safe!
Time is running out to secure coverage for your child's device—this Tuesday, September 22nd, is the absolute final deadline to purchase annual Chromebook Insurance, with no exceptions. For just $25 per school year, this optional coverage protects against up to 3 accidental damage incidents. You can sign up by checking the appropriate box in Final Forms or simply sending your payment directly to the school. Please call the main office if you need assistance, and be sure to submit your payment by Tuesday to ensure your student is covered for the year ahead!
Have a GOOD Week!

LAST DAY TO PURCHASE CHROMEBOOK INSURANCE - SEPTEMBER 22
Families are welcome to pay for school fees (instructional fee, Chromebook insurance, etc.) online via PaySchools. You can also send in Cash (exact change) or a Check made payable to Wadsworth City Schools. Please note: If sending in cash or a check, you must send in separate payments to each school building. You can not combine fees for multiple children in other buildings.
E-Bike Information - PLEASE READ
Whether students are cruising down the street or riding off-road, it is essential to stay up to date on Ohio and Wadsworth e-bike regulations. While Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes (under 20 mph) have no statewide minimum age and are generally allowed on shared-use paths, Class 3 e-bikes (up to 28 mph) require riders to be at least 16 years old, wear helmets, and stick primarily to roads and bike lanes. All e-bikes are permitted on public roads provided you follow standard traffic laws, but remember that electric motor assistance is never allowed on sidewalks.
LUNCHTIME SPIRIT SALES - SEPTEMBER 25
The PTO is bringing back lunchtime Spirit Sales on Friday, September 25th! Items for sale include stickers, bracelets, pom poms, thunder sticks, scrunchies, foam fingers, and more, ranging from $1–$5 each.
Participation is completely optional and a great way to show some school spirit while helping out. Please note: we will only be able to accept cash at these sales.
Thanks for supporting our Grizzlies!
