Term 3 Week 228 July 2023

Pyjamas rock!

Kia ora e te whānau,

What an awesome day we had last Friday, rocking our pyjamas. Not that I am a fan of wet, cold weather, but wasn't it nice to be able to snuggle in something comfy on such a yuck day.

In the office we are working on 2024 already. I know that some parents and students have expressed their dislike of the current school day in terms of our bells, and we are working on this to see where we can make some changes.

One of the reasons we have moved to the current times is to accommodate and fit in the specialists that our students see weekly. We have Mrs Martel doing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths ) and Mrs Talmage doing Music. We also have Mr Gannaway doing some Art with the students. This is different from the past, and so will take time to work through and get the right mix.

Here is what the current bell times are:

8:30am Student allowed on site

8:55am School starts

8:55 - 10:10 Block 1

10:10 - 10:20 Break 1

10:20- 11:35 Block 2

11:35 - 11:55 Break 2

11:55 - 13:10 Block 3

13:10 - 13:45 Break 3

13:45 - 15:00 Block 4

Please be aware that our gates open at 8:30am for students. Students that are dropped at school before 8:30am are not under supervision of any staff members. We are seeing many students dropped off as early as 7:45am, and need to make parents aware that until 8:30am students are deemed to be under parental supervision.
